The Performing Arts Project

My D just got an invite to apply through Acceptd and I wondered if they were just contacting everyone who signed up for the Be Discovered section. Also, does anyone have experience at this program?

My D went last summer. It is
Auditioned based. We know several who were not invited after the audition.

My D still says it was a life changing experience.
It was mostly college aged students- my D was going into her Senior year of high school, about 15% of students were her age.

My S received and email from them too.

My S got an invite, too – I wonder if everyone who’s submitting an MT prescreen through Acceptd automatically gets one? – but who can think ahead to next summer right now with a senior going through this college search?!!

That’s what I thought, thanks guys.

My son did the program last summer as a rising senior. You can choose an emphasis of acting, voice or dance but you still participate in all. It was exhausting but he really enjoyed it. It really boosted his self confidence. Lots of Texas State students attend.

My D attended summer of 2013. TPAP company #2. She will tell you it was a life-changing-experience. Quality, industry instructors. Heads of college MT prog’s give master classes. Great opportunity for networking! HIGHLY recommend.

TPAP notices come out tomorrow! fingers crossed!

I was just accepted into company #3 for this years TPAP program. Can someone explain to me the difference between “companies”?

We were waitlisted…ugh. Congrats to you! Company #3 simply means the third year TpAP has been around.

YAY! My son was just accepted, too! Woo hoo! Company 3 refers to this being the third year of the program.

congrats MT mom! Too many dang girls in this competitive world… we were waitlisted

Company 3 is the name of the group going this summer. Company 1 was their first year, Company 2 was last year. Congrats to all who are accepted!!! This is the MOST AMAZING group and experience my daughter has had the pleasure of knowing. It really was life changing for her. I can’t say enough about our experience. Please know, however, the intent is not about performance but about becoming more of an artist. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Can those who were admitted please tell me when they have asked for your commitment both written and financially? I am trying to figure out when we may hear from the waitlist. Thanks!!!

My daughter was waitlisted last year and did not get in. Just as an FYI.

Trying to figure out if everyone gets waitlisted, or if it is a true list.

My D was wait listed for company two. I think it was about 5-6 weeks after acceptances we got an email letting her know that she would not move off. By then we had already committed to BTP. But here is the BEST NEWS… She decided to audition again in Chicago, and she will be a member of Company Three!!!

Note: BTP is a very similar program that she absolutely enjoyed, but she still wanted a chance to work with the TPAP faculty!

Have any of you had experience with Artsbridge or MPulse? We have heard so many wonderful things about TPAP and are just trying to get as much information as we can before making a decision.

If you have the opportunity for MPulse, I would take it. It’s specifically designed for rising seniors, and although my D was not accepted last summer, had she been, she would have jumped at the chance!

Truthfully, ANY summer program that is audition based will give your kid a fantastic experience as they prepare for the audition season.
