ok so last year i applied to hotchkiss and st georges. i didnt get into hotchkiss but got waitlisted at st georges. i never got off the waitlist but kept a strong relationship with the school (letters, emails, etc) so once it was stuck in my head i wasnt going as a freshman, i decided i would apply again. im only applying to st georges this time (always been my #1) and feel much more prepared, being that i went through the process once before. first off, does anyone have any tips about applying to be a sophmore at a school? is it worse/better than starting as a freshman? any other opinions or insight would be great. thanks!

prepchick, I want to wish you the best in your endeavor to attend SGS. Prepchick, besides having the experience of applying for the second time, how else do you feel better prepared?

Good luck! My only suggestion is that it would be good to look at a few other schools you might have missed last year. There might be one or two that you can love almost as much as St. George's. Please consider.

prepchick, I agree with Burb Parent. As I recall, sailing was big for you, is that correct? If so, consider Tabor, and Portsmouth Abbey.

I remember reading somewhere (I don't remember where now) that it is easier to get into boarding school as a sophomore than as a freshman ... good luck prepchick...

thanks. This time, i feel better prepared just because ive already gone through the application process once. i have done numerous interviews before and taken the SSAT previously as well

Prepchick - We posted back and forth around the time you found out you were waitlisted. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you this school year. Definitely add Tabor (if you think you might like it) to your list if you enjoy sailing. We take out the boats as long as weather permits and it's awesome. I'm enjoying me first year here immensely and the students are awesome. Good luck!

just wondering, what were your stats before and what are they now???
