Jester/San Jacinto seem the best fit for you. There’s no distinct smell in Jester like people have said, and it’s really up to you if your room is tidy and smells nice. So I think now you should just look into if you think the extra money is worth the private bath and a newer building. San Jacinto also has a community kitchen where you get the key from the front desk and the room is yours for 2 hours. Jester does not have a place to cook.

is Moore-Hill mostly upperclassmen.? I’ll be a freshman in the fall and it seems appealing to me but I don’t want to live somewhere that doesn’t have any other freshmen!

can’t say what the make-up of students is at Moore-Hill, but if that’s what you choose you shouldn’t worry since it’s across the street from Jester, BPR, and San Jac.

Unless they got rid of it in the past year, Jester definitely has a kitchen in the basement.

thank you, whatsgoodbevo!

Oh ok, then I lied about the kitchen if that’s true, oops!

I feel seriously stupid about asking this, but can someone explain to me how coed dorms work? I googled for like an hour, and found jack all (i.e. how floors & bathrooms work, etc).
My parents are incredibly paranoid… they want me to go to Kinsolving, but I haven’t heard very good things about it, and it’s pretty far from where I’ll be taking most of my classes so it’s really my bottom choice as of right now.

^ Where I lived, each floor was about half and half, with guys on one end and girls on the other. Some dorms are co-ed by floor, i.e. one floor has guys and the floor above has girls and so on. I’m pretty sure Jester is basically co-ed by wing. Kinsolving and Littlefield are all girls and Simkins (edit: oops, Creekside or whatever) is all guys. As far as I know, none of the dorms have co-ed bathrooms so there’s no need to worry about that.

Hey guys, sorry for bumping this thread, but I have a question.
I am currently a CAP student, and after a year here in UTSA, I can confidently say that I have secured the 3.2 gpa requirement.
I have sent everything and all UT needs from me is my final transcript. I sent the $50 housing request thing in about February, but I can’t choose my dorm until I have been accepted, which i’m guessing will be sometime in early June. My question is, since I will have to do my housing contract so late, will I have any choice at all on what dorm I get? I don’t really mind what hall I get( hopefully not Duren or San Jac, since they’re a bit pricey), but I just want to know what my chances are of getting a choice in a community/shared bath or if I can possibly get a single.

I didn’t realize CAP kids had to wait so long to get their official acceptance and housing assignment. I’d get that offical transcript the day the grades are posted and walk it into UT’s admission department to try to speed it up.
IMO, you are extemely unlikely to get San Jac or Duren as those fill up very, very quickly. There are few singles, so I wouldn’t hold out for those either. My guess is you’ll get Jester.

As I understand, the date you paid the $50 is your priority date so it won’t matter that you won’t have your housing contract signed until June.

Maybe you are right.

Are the renovated rooms in Jester East that much better than Jester West? How so?

Latest news - Littlefield became an Honors dorm.:)

[Honors Living Community | School of Undergraduate Studies](http://www.utexas.edu/ugs/uhc/residences)
“The Honors Living Community, comprised of four halls in the “Quad” (Andrews, Blanton, Carothers and Littlefield), houses approximately 650 outstanding students, most of whom are in one of the university’s undergraduate honors programs.”

Kind of an odd question, but are windows supposed to be bolted down everywhere? I just now realized that the windows in my 5th floor room can be opened lol

Hey, guys, I was wondering if anybody has gotten their room assignments yet? My friend said she heard of some people getting them, so I thought I might as well ask.

From the Class of 2016 Facebook page, assignments may start going out on Friday. Most will get the assignments next week (July 23rd). One of the other Facebook members posted an e-mail from the the housing division stating this.

Hey so housing assignments just came in and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to read the room number. I got San Jacinto Hall 14XX; what floor is that on (there’s not a fourteenth floor is there o_o")?

It’s the 1st floor. I guess the second number refers to what wing or part of the floor you in or something.

Hi guys,
I got a triple in duren… didn’t even know those existed :o I couldn’t find any pictures for the triple… hopefully its not to small. Plus, why was I placed in a triple when i didn’t ask for one? not enough room?
