The Waitlist List. For those of us waitlisted

you can find contact information for your admissions office representative on the upenn admission's office website (Penn: Admissions)

I'm an international who has been waitlisted.
Can someone please give me an email id of someone from the Admissions office in Penn?
I can't find it.

I am on the wait list at Penn. I want to go to Penn if accepted.
Everyone needs to calm down.
Penn has until June 30 to make all final acceptances.
Just because you were not accepted yet means nothing.
I have heard nothing yet since the blue reply card was sent to me. Penn has not emailed me nor called me.
Penn will accept more people if necessary in the second round.
Not everything you read here is accurate. For example, I read that Penn is supposedly only accepting people from the College of Arts and Sciences. That is wrong.

If you are on Penn's wait list, it means that you are academically successful. Do not stress over their decision. If you've made it this far, then I'm sure you have other great schools that you could attend. We are all brilliant students. We will do great wherever you go. If UPenn is your first choice, then you probably will accept nothing but Penn as your school. Well, for those of you who are so fixed on Penn, I advise you to look into your other schools. This may be hard to swallow, but life is not fair.

In my case, I applied to Johns Hopkins Early Decision. I wanted to go there so much. I was deferred to Regular Decision and later rejected. I felt bummed for a while, but when I realized how great my back-up school was (Maryland), Hopkins's decision didn't affect me anymore.

If Penn is still your first choice because they will offer you great financial aid, then you may have to take out more loans if you don't get in. But then again, I'm sure one of your other less selective schools has offered you attractive financial aid.

If Penn is still your first choice because of its Ivy League prestige, then I'll say that prestige for undergraduates is overrated. Graduate, professional, and medical schools are where prestige is more significant.

Remember that this year was the worst in history in terms of college admissions. If this was any other year, most of us would be going to Penn.

Stay realistic. Two years ago, Penn admitted only 6% from the wait list (this is fact--"The Best 361 Colleges" by Princeton Review).

This whole post may seem depressing, but I want to bring you all to truth and reality. If you don't get into Penn, you will enjoy another college. Look into your schools that you will attend if you don't get into Penn. You'll see how great they really are.

And for emphasis, I do want to attend Penn very much. I will attend if accepted. But I am also excited for Maryland. Maybe you could get pumped for your current school, and then Penn could accept you. Then you'll be even more excited. I hope this helps.

Very good point 800meter! Be excited about the school that thought you were good enough to actually be accepted! One will surely realize that in every school there is talent and there is scholarship, Ivy league or not, Penn or not Penn. I am happy with my current school ( New York University) and hope that everything will work out well for all of us, who are very very tired of this admission game. guesses, admission rates, SAT, cut-off scores, EC, Clubs, OMG!!! I suggest for a bit of R&R and let time decide what will happen. After all.....there is always transfer (both sophomore and junior year) if you are hooked on submitting applications and licking the envelops LOL. Enjoy senior year and the Prom season! Graduation should rock! GLuck.

oh yeah, i know a friend of mine (also in new orleans) who rejected Penn's offer (CAS) and stuck with Rice. that was about a week ago and i am going to reject Wharton's WL in the near future, too. so i think thats more hope for either students in the south or asian WLees (we're both chinese).
keep the hopes up!

I just got a call 2 minutes ago from my regional rep asking if I was still interested to "make sure they were reaching out to the right students" and that they were going to go into a "special committee" soon. I am absolutely shaking right now.

^I was not offered admission, but I'm taking this as a good sign. Maybe the second round will start this week.

@slim2none: Lucky You! I think that now is going to be the last round, and I really hope that I get in this time. Best of luck to every one.

I got an email today saying that an acceptance is on its way. Best best best of luck to anybody still on the waitlist here and at other schools. There is still movement.

What school did you apply to, Slim2none??

At Penn, that is.

Let's all make a deal. We'll keep each other updated on the waitlist process. Were there any international students living outside America who were pulled off the waitlist?

GOOD LUCK!

I applied to SEAS for bioengineering and I'm from New England

For those of you who are interested:

I contacted my regional adviser's office on MONDAY, and an assistant or secretary of some kind said that Penn hopes to complete the wait list process within one or two weeks of Monday, June 2. If this is true, then at the latest we can expect our final decisions to be emailed or mailed to us around June 20 (since the week of June 16-20 is two weeks after the week I contacted the office).

No news from anyone??

Penn contacted me a month ago (1st round) for more information, then they kept quiet for a month. Last Friday they e-mailed me whether I was still interested which I definitely said yes. Around 5:00 PM they emailed me again saying that my package would come soon.

Hmmmm...........is this thread still alive??

possibly... (but our chances of getting in off the waitlist aren't :p. j/k)

just wondering - are people still being taken off the waitlist? Im a CAS waitlisted applicant from Maryland.

they said they would send decisions by the 30th. what's one more week?

Hahaha......@ Arachnophobia12
