THE Wharton Thread

to all ED comrades. I am Joon and from south korea, currently going to high school in cali. I came to the states about 3 years ago... I had a big wharton inspiration even b4 I came to the states.. almost for 5 years. I'm very proud of being a whartonite.. Hope to meet you guyz all in the forum on 13th. Peace.

Hey,
I got in ED- from Washington, D.C.- really excited to meet everyone! Although my safety school was in FL which would have been nicer in terms of weather...oh well...puts on wharton sweatshirt...there's always study abroad...

btw, pinkmuscat: u r weird. "40 yr old perverts" lol, only nerds come onto this site- everyone knows that:)

i got my wharton packet like four days ago, and a post card confirming that penn got my deposit today. im so excited. now, im officially a whartonite. gawd, it sounds so good to say that.

ps. americangirl05, there are totally 40 year old perverts on this site coming to stalk 17 year old girls (maybe guys haha). and im not a nerd. lol, yeah i am...

i didnt get a post confirming my deposit but i did get a packet from Wharton.... should i call them? or shouild I assume they got my deposit if they sent me the packet?

Yeah, I got the Wharton Packet but I didn't get the confirmation postcard thing. It'll come soon, I hope.

Lucky...thnks...but i was actually wondering about double majoring not double concentrations...like another major in poli sci with a concentration in wharton...would that be really difficult to do if you didnt do dual degree?

also i have yet to recieve the wharton packet or postcard...should i call and ask

I was actually going to apply for either Huntsman or Jerome Fisher. But my private counselor told me that it will lower my chance, and the important thing is to get in Wharton.. I agreed and gave up applying...
BUT I did not give up expanding my academic exploration.. I might apply for M&T as a sophomore or try engineering minor or something. I mean there are so many options and opportunities you can think of. I am also considering submatriculating into law school and finish both JD and bachelor degree in 6 yrs.. Anyway, i have not received both of packet and postcard... i assume it is because i sent that deposit on the 3rd... I was back in Korea for Christmast break and could not check my admission letter by mail..

So does "Whar10ite/Whartenite" for "Wharton class of 2010" sound cool or nerdy?
haha

to pinkmuscat: ok you have a ton of posts so I'm taking your word for it! lol
but I hope you don't have experience with it- like stalked or something :( that would be really freaky...

your clever americangirl. I like Whar10ite. It makes sense when it's written but it's funny trying to get others to notice verbally.

M&T...what is this program and is there other programs to look for while at wharton for already admitted students

M&T indicates Jerome Fisher program in management and technology.
You get both Wharton and engineering degrees from Penn..
I heard they are admitting about 5 sophomores to that program..
there's also something called Huntsman program in Business and Internation ... this is closed for sophomores..

damn, im posting on this too much... i could be spending my time like actually living, that would be nice. yeah, i havent recieved a satisfactory answer about who from seattle got in... i hope its not just me and robd. i guess ill find out when the official wharton blog comes out. god! im so excited.

how many ppl get admitted to huntsman and M&T each yr

Huntsman - 30+ (not too sure bout this one), Jerome Fisher - 18, Velagos- 14

This was the statistic for ED for fall 2006.

I believe Huntsman is 40-45, M&T around the same, maybe a little more? But M&T also accepts transfers while Huntsman does not. The other programs I am not too familiar with.

Darn, I still haven't received my postcard yet and I paid my deposite on the 21st of December... I think I might have to call them.

Darn, I still haven't received my postcard yet and I paid my deposite on the 21st of December... I think I might have to call them.

so this postcard...what does it say...i recieved something that said "welcome to wharton and webpost is up on jan 13." while my friend who got into the college got a thing that said "we've recieved ur deposit"

wats going on...did they recieve my deposit and reply card...it doesnt say anything on that matter on the card taht i've recieved.

I was worrying too much, I think that if they didn't receive your deposit they would contact you as to why you didn't send it in. I decided to not get worried and I received my postcard confirmation yesterday. So the final verdict is: don't worry. Unless it's the end of January and you still haven't received it; then you should worry.

I emailed my regional rep, and he told me that the mailing system is backed up so it'll take a while for everyone to get the postcards, but that my deposite was received... so I don't think we need to worry anymore... and of course, they would call you if you didn't get it.

I was offerred acceptance to Wharton, but I'm deferred from Jerome Fisher. If I don't get into M&T, I'll go to Wharton :)

lionheartop2,

When I talked to my regional rep, she told me that if you get deferred from M&T but into Wharton ED, you are no longer considered for M&T.
