no no…from what the theory says everyone whos status changed before 3/1 were on the Admit- category…THEAjays status itself changed on 2/22 i think…
sorry i didnt know you were quoting off the original theory…

^^^ well if Ajay is meant as an indian name then hes a guy…

He’s a guy. My status changed on the 24th. We think anyone that got their status changed from March 1 or the 3rd onwards are in later waves and/or deny+ “rankings.”

I know you said your theory doesnt apply to those who were in the ‘we have received requested grades’ category, but what do you think about someone who’s status just changed from that to ‘being reviewed’ at 8:30 last night??

So…QuixoticRick, what do you think of someone in admit-, applied to SCA and is still “we received your fall grades”? In your opinion, do you think my s will still be admitted regardless of whether he makes the cut in SCA? What’s your theory on this dilemma? I love to speculate!

haha I am a guy indeed. Also, I wouldn’t consider myself to have “stellar” stats as my GPA is pretty low for USC lol.

S33D: I honestly have no idea. I haven’t heard of anyone still in your stage of statuses so I guess you could fall into any category.

Ponydance: Honestly, you could be admit- or deny+. People with the mid year grades status seem to fall into any category and are given a label once your fall grades are reviewed with the rest of the application. It is more likely that “fall grades” people follow a random pattern since there are many variables regarding when the grades were submitted/reviewed/etc. I have noticed that some people moved from “fall grades” to “in review” to “acted on” with a couple days so just keep checking your status.

curious1: We believe it is not possible to give someone a label (admit-, deny+) while they have the “fall grades” status. The status seems to be common among people who applied to SCA. Generally, an applicant will need to be admitted to the college before they are admitted to a specialty school (especially SCA which requires extra application material). It is possible that your son has already been admitted to the college and is currently being reviewed by SCA. I don’t think its possible to really get a good gauge with the “fall grades” status. My guess is that “fall grades” people are more likely to be admitted in later waves, not because they have any lower stats, but because the application would generally go under review at a later date due to the fact that people whose fall grades are requested do not have a complete application until significantly later than those whose grades were not requested.

hope I make sense. Its 7th period and I’m tired lol.

it is sooooo freaking hard…to call USC…their phones are busy 24/7

THEAjay89: my status has been at currently reviewing since…1/24…and then they sent me a letter asking to verify info…but apparently it got missent to malaysia..not myanmar…so i only received it now…and it said Country of Citizenship: United States of America…when i’m an international..so obviously they got that wrong…very very wrong…and is that maybe why my status hasn’t been updated in a while? ..i’m freaking out…a lot… and another mail was sent…saying that they’re still considering me…so maybe the delay in my app status is due to the fact that it says i’m a US citizen…when i’m german…and i have no credentials or proof…that i’m a US citizen/.?

i dunno…freaking out…cos it’s my top choice…and i’m gonna be so mad…if i got rejected or deferred due to incorrect citizenship status…

Lynn…just keep on trying the phoneline…ull get through sometime…just hang in there because its fairly easy to change anything in your application as long as you have your USC id (which is the top right of any correspondance from USC)
Just make sure you call them and inform them on time.
Also try sending in an email to the office of admission.

i did call them…i told them my id…and apparently…they said they’re not checking my app right now because the computers are lagging (wth) but “maybe” i stated i’m chinese american…and i was like “i’m not american at all…i’m german myanmar”…and she said “oh…ok, well…i’ll change your status BACK to an international..” ..

Well did she specifically state that she was changing your status?? Cuz if she said so i wouldn worry too much…Although i would call them again and make sure they changed it.
If i were you id actually call 3 times. I wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing they got wrong info…

I cannot sleep…but she didn’t really talk to me nicely either…so I think i’ll wait a day before I call again…I think…man…I’m sooo freaking out right now…I don’t wanna annoy them…but it’s so hard to call them with the time difference here

hey dont worry…who cares if they are rude to you or if you annoy them.
Just make sure they change your citizenship status to international. Also try sending them emails. They generally respond in a day or two.
Chill out though, If she said that she changed your info then i dont think you have much to worry. But keep letting them know

well i dont want to freak anyone out but i just called USC about mid-year grades

the woman on the phone told me that they were only through processing mid-year grades for 2-9 and since mine were sent out later (2-14) I should call back in about a week.

maybe this “wave” system is just when they receive your mid-years because not everyone’s can be received at once

whew… i had to read that previous post twice. the first time i read it, i thought you said there were only through processing applications for 2-9 which would mean that i’m a reject x.x. but you didnt say that so i’m still in the runnings =D

nave462000-hey sorry can you repeat that in a more understandable way? I don’t understand, but thanks so much for posting it i think it will help a lot of people who’s questions were still in the air. What does like…2-9 mean? February ninth? or like march second through march ninth

i think nave46 meant that USC were only finished processing mid year grades that were postmarked on feb-9. since his were postmarked on feb-14, he should call back in a week

i think they do the “admission committee review” that we are all reading about on our status pages when they “process” our mid-year grades. so i believe that they will make my decision in about a week, and those whose grades were postmarked february 9th were reviewed today.

Given that USC is mailing out a “very large” batch on March 28, it seems like some people whose statuses changed to reviewing recently, as well as some of the people from mid-Feb “in review” will be accepted during this small batch on Friday, or the big one at the end of March. For some people who have been in review since January, it seems like those people are going to be rejected…
