I took my cfas....they were horrible. But how do I look if you not look at the really painful ones?

bball throw 67'1"
pullups 7
40 shuttle 9.5
situps 48 (I know...its low)
pushups 50
mile 8:52 (really bad)

looks like you already know what you need to work on

pushups and pullups could be improved too

can you take the CFA a second time?

yes you can

realistically, if you can get your run under 8 minutes and sit ups up to average, you can be competitive.

To be competative you need that run under 7 or at most 7:30. Remember once you get to usma you need to run under a 15 min 2 mile....so an 8 min mile is really not gonna cut it.

And once you get to USMA all those runs will be uphill. ;) You'll most definitely need to practice on hills. If you use a treadmill, make the incline feature your friend. Lots of new cadets who showed up at Beast in great shape, said that running the hills was the biggest physical challenge of the summer.

Swimmerguy, remember that the CFA supposedly doesn't count that much towards admissions. All you really need to do is pass it, and then hopefully your academics and other things will help you out. Just keep working hard. I did 3 sets of 95 sit ups in a row every day. This will help your sit ups a lot. For your mile, just keep running. Go all out when you can.
