Currently I attend a community college in the San Gabriel Valley and I have attended this community college for two years now.I am going to attend another year(in hopes that i apply and transfer). My basic question is what are my possibilities into getting inot UCSB,UCSD,UCI,UCD,UCR,and UCM.

This is my background:
-well in Spring 2010 i had a 3.11 GPA but I taken a chemistry course in summer and so as of now I calculated my grade and it may go down to 3.02(possibly even 2.99!!!)
-I plan to be a chemistry major
-I am interested in the pharmaceutical program for UCSD(but i dont know the GPA required to get in so if you guys could help me on this one).
-I have completed IGETC.
-Was applying to become a reserve police officer but decided college was more important since Im still young.Hope this becomes useful for my UC application.

I plan to apply for TAG to get into any of these schools but I also dont if my work completed will allow me to obtain TAG.Im so worried right now...please help me or give suggestions.

Well, since you already completed the IGETC, your math and English should be completed. As for the TAG agreement with the UC schools, you GPA might be a slight problem for a few of those UC Schools listed.

Here is the TAG matrix with the GPA requirements by the END of summer 2010.

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/ETS10/TAGMatrix_final.pdf

With a “2.99” the only schools you’d qualify for are: UC Davis, UC Merced, and UC Riverside

Now, UCSD requires a 3.0 by the end of FALL 2010. All other colleges you will need to have a 3.0 GPA by the end of the current Summer Term.

Hope that helped!!

Also, with a chemistry major depending on which college you want to attend you will need to complete the majority of your major prereq. The majority of the time these are REQUIRED: One year of general chemistry, one year of biology, and one year of calculus. Organic chemistry is HIGHLY recommended as well as physics, but they are sometimes not required depending on the university.

SB now requires a 3.2, IIRC.
