Tickets

Will be visiting Duke with DS in February for admissions tour. The men's basketball team happens to play that night. Tickets on stubhub are $400 and up, which seems insane for a non-UNC game. Do prices ever come down to normal levels? Are they available on game day (scalper) at an affordable price?

What is DS?

^ are you new to these boards? DS is dear son.

My husband and I had tickets to the Vermont game in November. There were scalpers selling tickets outside of Cameron for that game. I suspect it depends on the opponent.

I would talk to the admissions office and see if they can give you a discount to the game. They might not be able to considering how good at basketball duke is but at some schools they do since they want prospective students to experience events on campus such as basketball games.

^they won’t give you a discount, please disregard the above post. Your best bet is the secondary market, as you aren’t an Iron Duke and won’t get one from Duke, although there is an extremely small chance you can get one before game time from them. Closer to the date, there should be some cheaper ones on StubHub and there usually are scalpers on campus. Sounds stupid, but your best chance of getting them at face value is if you are dressed in Duke clothes, Iron Dukes with extra tickets tend to give them to Duke fans.

Post on The Devils Den, DBR, and reddit’s duke sub /r/duke as you will be much more likely to find them there than here. If your child knows any students, he could probably borrow someone’s ID and get into the student section, but that would leave you out of it.

If you research Duke’s CC topics during the last few months, you’ll find a detailed discussion of this topic.
