Okay, here are my questions:
When do you pay your tuition? How soon are the payments due?
And how do you pay for your cost of attendance payments?
Thanks!

The following website section should answer your questions; if not, try searching around on the Finance website of which that section forms part:

Finance - Student Account Services - Student Billing

You will get a bill.
If you have any scholarships and aid, you can deduct that and pay by deadline or WAIVE it until those have been credited. You can check your account by signing into the student central and viewing your account.
If you attend ctops early in the sessions your bill is due like July 1.
If later not due until sometime in August.
That is a brief overview.
Write check or I believe you can pay your account by debiting your account (slight fee). One thing we are NOT happy about is the refusal to take VISA....you can pay with diners card and some other card I don't own like discover or mastercard.
One card accounts have to be paid with check either mailed in or in person.
I would suggest adding money to your onecard when you GET your one card....expense money (not books) but other incidental expenses like laundry (all done on one card, drinks at bookstore, other stuff). Your books will be put on your main account. If you have a wachovia account you can link it to your one card allowing you to somehow transfer funds to the one card but I think you still have to call to do...not sure if you can do with a bank machine which would be ultra convenient.

Flex account is something that goes iwth the student meal plans allowing you to purchase anything from bottom of lenoir or tar heel takeout or even the food items at the book store i think.

Easiest thing to do is just write a check and take it by the University Cashier's office in SASB on South Campus during the first few weeks of school. You can write one check for tuition, fees, housing, meal plan, and any books you've charged to your account. Flex and Expense money can be deposited to your one card with cash or check in the OneCard office or with MasterCard online.

So you can't make tuition payments with Visa?

I am going to the August 14-15 CTOPS. What do you mean that I have to pay up around August? And how much?
Which loans are preferrable? When am I billed...like after every semester or every year?
Thanks!

You will not be billed until you are officially enrolled. You are not officially enrolled until you register for classes. I am not so sure they care where you get your loans from....but if you need assistance with loans and qualification for school or fed sponsored loans call the financial aid office.....or perhaps there is a section on cc that deals with paying for college. If you are in the last ctops you will have time to pay. I agree the best bet is to go ahead and sign up for housing, meals, and preorder books so when your bill arrives you aren't hit repeatedly.

No you can't get those points on visa or amex....darn it. I will check to see but I think i did an electronic transfer (debit) online. Everyone wants those points but I think it cost the university to accept visa/amex

how much is this bill that we're talking about? and do I start paying my bills every____?

We pay monthly tuition through Tuition Management- www.afford.com. We have not had any problems these past two years. Discover is the card they accept.
