To transfer or not to transfer

Reason for transfer:
I applied to my current college as a bio-chem major on a pre med track, which it was known for. However, after finding a passion in economics and political science beginning my sophomore year, I soon realized my school did not provide enough resources for me to go further. I took on graduate courses and did joint research with the director of graduate studies in international relations and mathematics professors. Even then, the political science and economics programs here are very poor and I'd like to go to a university where I can be challenged further.

What are your thoughts on my chances in transferring to a university with a better political science and/or economics program? Below, I've provided some information to better evaluate my situation.

Education:
Junior standing
School (top tier regional midwest private university)
Economics/Political Science double major (~3.95 major GPA)
~3.75 cumulative GPA
Various graduate coursework (i.e. computer applications, advanced statistics/econometrics, research)

Tests:
SAT.Math 750
SAT.Writing 610
SAT.Reading 580

Extracurriculars/ work experience:

Consulting Summer Internship (50hr/week): Consulted two Fortune 400 clients with marketing strategy development and market analysis by writing reports and creating deliverables, which involved both qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Student Researcher (15hr/week): Worked with mathematics professor, director of graduate program in international relations, and several other faculty in studying the application of fuzzy mathematics and fuzzy set theory in predicting entity behavior.

*I've done several other on campus jobs, estimating to approximately 25~30 hours of extracurriculars/work.

bump, anyone? opinions are appreciated

Go for it? I’m an econ major too and a potential transfer as well. You have to do what makes you happy. Would you miss your old school?

You have to look at the fact that you will probably have too many credits to transfer. You will be obligated to take 2 years at the new college. Some colleges won’t take you at all with too many credits. You have opportunities for grad classes and research so that’s not too bad. What does the grad school director think you should do?
