Top Ten most Prestigious Public Universities

rjk, so let me get this straight again…Michigan is ranked higher in 5 departmernts, 4 of which UC Berkeley doesn’t have…and UC Berkeley is ranked higher in 90 departments, yet you DARE state that Michigan is the best well rounded university?

unbelievable

UMDNJ was taken away from Rutgers in 1970 and is not part of it today. RU is right now making the case to reclaim it.

[Rutgers University Libraries: Libraries and Centers: Library of Science and Medicine:](http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/rul/libs/lsm_lib/lsm_history.shtml)

rjk, this is completely false statement by you

^ Based on that info, Rutgers - New Brunswick has 20 schools to Michigan’s 19.

There are rankings, but from what I’ve read, nothing definitive

I think we need to chill out for a moment.

Chill out? I just put some popcorn on!

My computer for some reason cannot cut and paste. Rutgers has many separate schools that would fall into other schools at Michigan and Berkeley. Just like I missed music at Cal, collegebiomed also has done the same with Michigan.

^ I noticed Rutgers has a lot of schools that overlap between public health and psychology that would otherwise be consolidated at Michigan.

Let Berkeley have it’s own health program and I would agree with you. Face it, medicine is huge at most of the top schools. Berkeley is simply not as well rounded as Michigan. I agree that it’s incredible that you are being so obtuse.

Those music rankings are for theory at the phD level, not performance, which is what I was referring to. I didn’t make myself clear and I apologize for that.

Be all end all:
Michigan has a little bit more academic breadth than Berkeley.
Berkeley is stronger than Michigan in the majority of its educational departments.
