Transfer After Freshman Falsification

I think the UC and CSU systems are the only school systems that don’t ask for high school transcripts along with community college transcripts. And that’s only because they have an extraordinary amount of faith in the california community college system.

Try DeVry.

Hope this thread is a cautionary tale for the kids out there who think they can mess with their transcript. Youngsters…the blacklist is real.

People. my name is not karens.

My first name is karen and my last name starts with s. i live iin San Diego. get it right.

so you are saying the privates all talk with each other and i wont be allowed to go anywhere?

■■■!

even if i transfer? what if i do well at trasnfer

"I think the UC and CSU systems are the only school systems that don’t ask for high school transcripts along with community college transcripts. And that’s only because they have an extraordinary amount of faith in the california community college system.
"

They do , to confirm high school graduation. MANY MANY MANY people are ineligible because they are unable to provide proof of high school graduation or equivalent. It’s all on statfinder , each year, there are thousands who are UC INELIGIBLE , ■■■■■■■■.

Karen, you are probably going to waste your money applying to the UC system and possibly the CSU system. You’ll be fine with the privates.

“I think the UC and CSU systems are the only school systems that don’t ask for high school transcripts along with community college transcripts. And that’s only because they have an extraordinary amount of faith in the california community college system.”

UC Berkeley required me to send in my transcripts from high school.

UCLA doesn’t require HS transcripts. I guess that Berkeley might.

karens - your screen name is karens. Basically not all the privates talk to each other but the majority of private schools ask for high school transcript. This in turn causes the high school you attended have some sort of notification on your transcript that shows that you should be ineligible because of what you’ve done.

As for USC and the UC’s, you can count them out for applying for undergraduate and graduate.

I knew someone who was blacklisted straight out of HS for the same exact thing.

And wow, while reading through this thread it dawned on me that I might incorrectly put in the wrong grade for a class I retook, damn, the thought alone gives me shivers. (how DO you input a retake?)

theres a little box for you to mark a grade as academic renewal which means you retook the class.

All right. This one thread is getting out of control. Karen, let me just clarify what all these other condescending and demeaning fools are trying fool you. First, there’s no such damn thing as a blacklist. If you lie about a grade, then you just have to try again next term. It’s not a big damn deal. Secondly, if the UC has a blacklist like a private college, then what’s the point of being a public university for everyone? It defeats the whole purpose of the California Higher Education Act of 1964. Surely, they cannot penalize you for one mistake you made in high school and made up the lost after two years later at a community college. That will also defeat the purpose of also the community colleges too. You’re not a criminal… or at least I hope not… and you shouldn’t be treated like one. You’re a student and students make mistakes. Don’t let other fools on this forum tell you “Oh, try DeVery… or dont’ go to UC”… that’s freaking mean and messed up. It doesn’t even make sense or even at most REASONABLE for the UC to blacklist anyone… You can actually bring a lawsuit up against it if they were to tell you they blacklisted you because you have done nothing wrong and may one error. Heck, even criminals get a 2nd chance.

If they had rejected you, they rejected you either on grounds your GPA was low or not. Most UC’s will tell you the reason why they reject you and surely, lying is not of these legitmate reasons they tell you because you’re a blacklist… there’s no such thing. This thread is getting out of control like how LATimes says that kids on collegeconfidential do this bashing to get rid of competition. So let me clarifying… no blacklist.

johnngo,

Blacklist or not, this person didn’t simply misreport a grade. It seems that most people are not grasping what happened… this person purposely misreported a grade and subsequently tried to tamper with the school’s computer system to change his/her transcript to reflect the other grade.

Now, with that said, note that this person is 1) still being arrogant about his/her actions; and 2) attempting to weasel into the UC system in one year by reaching 60 units via AP credits and unit-heavy semesters.

Does that reflect growth for you?

Damn, I just follow up on her other posts and yeah, you’re right, Grey. Computer violations, especially academic computer violations in the form of hacking, will never get you anywhere. I mentioned earlier about whether you’re a criminal and just did petty lying but changing grades is a little too far. You might just want to try SDSU or something.

The CSUs are more lenient when it comes to transfer admissions. In fact, they don’t really look at your grades, really. You might want to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Top CSU… as close to UCI… I heard someone who changed their grades when I was in high school…at Arcadia High School back in 2006… and this guy graduated in 2005… he never got back on his feet because of that incident. =. If there’s a note on your college file, then gg.

Hey, I’m from Arcadia High! I graduated in 2008. Who was the guy? I don’t recall hearing about it.

But I think trying to hack into the school’s computer system is freakin’ ridiculous. When I was in high school, I got so many of my teachers to change my grade simply by. . . ASKING FOR IT. I was getting an F in AP Physics C and ended up with C’s for both semesters because I made a deal with the teacher. Got a few B’s changed to A’s by seriously, just asking. Most teachers want you to succeed and if they see that you put effort into it, they will help you. Instead of trying to hack into the system, you should’ve just explained the situation to that teacher to see if they are willing to change your grade.

But I guess there’s no point in saying all that now. And you were lucky you were only expelled or suspended or whatever it was that happened because I can’t seem to find the truth from your posts. I think if you were older, this would’ve been reported to the police. But IMO, I think you do have a shot at a future. There are mass high school dropouts and after a few years of CC, they still get into a very good college. Plus, America is the land of opportunity and in a way, a land for second chances. If you can prove that you’ve changed and you’ll never do anything like that again, I think you will be forgiven. But if you think you can get into UCLA or UCB by spending just one year at CC, like grey said, you have not changed at all. Maybe this will be a wake-up call for you.

lol @ OP calling UCs shady.

The UCLA Admissions rep. who comes to our CC spoke about this issue. If you lie/misrepresent information on your application, you will be banned for life from the UC system when caught.

Lying about a grade and attempting to hack the school records, epic levels of shadiness detected.

Holy crap allisonn, that’s pretty damn shady too.

A person should get the grade they deserve; asking for a better grade and getting it is just shady.

@ allisonn

yeah, i once had to donate money to the make a wish foundation to get a C in my AP calc class.

a friend of mine also wanted an A in AP Chem and the teacher told him that if he gave him a candy bar he would change it, so he gave him a candy bar. HA

UC transfer application does NOT require HS transcripts. However, if Karen is blacklisted, that wouldn’t make any difference.

Private schools are great. You might get a better education. (I’m choosing Boston College over UC Berkeley.) Just forget about the UCs and go for the smaller private schools in midwest or something. And you always have the option to go to school in Korea. They will treat you AWESOME and you’ll be admitted to the top universities as long as you’re from America, sadly enough.

Private schools generally require your high school transcript. If what she did is tamper with the schools main computer to change her grade, then it will be noted on her transcript. That will set her back on getting any acceptances from schools in general. That said, Korean universities do not “auto admit” American students. Also, if you’re not fluent in Korean, there are only a limited number of classes you can take taught in full English. SKY universities have a separate campus and “college” for these students, but they aren’t regaurded as highly as the main ones.

Private colleges offer a closer student to faculty ratio than public schools but that does not directly mean “better education”. If you’re instate, UC’s (like UCLA and Cal) offer an excellent price for the education and opportunities you get. The only positive aspect in my opinion of choosing a private over UCLA/Cal, is the hand-holding they do for you.

@Yujin: UCSD wanted my high school transcript.

missyujin: No, the transfer APPLICATION doesn’t require your hs transcript, but once you’re accepted, part of the admission contract is to send in your hs transcript, as well as cc transcripts, IGETC cert., AP scores, etc. (Aren’t you going to Berkeley? You need to send your hs transcript by July 15 if you are, so I hope you know this . . .) Basically, Karen can apply and possibly get into private schools, but after admission she will still need to send in that hs transcript.

And as for Karen . . . wow. I think the big problem everyone has with this thread is that you show no remorse or gain in judgment following your incredibly immature and irresponsible actions. No, you cannot apply to the UCs after they specifically told you that you could not apply to the UCs! I think you answered your own question in your very first post. Perhaps if you put as much effort into your schoolwork as you do trying to trick people into thinking you are something you’re not, you wouldn’t have to lie to begin with. Honestly, I know that I know nothing about you (seriously . . . kinda hard to figure out where the lies stop and the truth begins), but I have to urge you to gain some moral character, fast. I mean, you’re not even very good at lying . . .
