yeah some UCs are requiring HS transcripts now

missyujin,

I couldnāt help but cringe when I read what you said about Koreaās college system.
Korea doesnāt admit everyone from the States.

It might have been easier for Korean-Americans to be admitted previously, but you need a major update on how it has changed. For example, SNU has an increasingly rigorous admission process for International students every year. All Iām saying isā¦ Just like how UCās are deemed more āprestigiousā and competitive than CSUās, the lesser known colleges in not only Korea but ALL over the world - admit less competitive students. I hope thatās what you mean.

Please donāt make generalizations about Korea (I understand that you are Korean yourself) on top of the things non-Koreans say about our small yet improving country!

Connecting back to the OPās situationā¦

Go out of state, overseas, whatever you need to get out of this mess. Just donāt ever try to take the easy way out again. (Which, by the way, is what you are doing right now starting this post)

LOL on Karens for not being able to gain admissions anywhere in the United States because of High School transcript notation on cheating.

unknownpleasures,
Just a correction, if you are a transfer student you are not ineligible for not graduating. I am not a high school graduate, never took the GED, went to CC, and now at Cal. They did ask for my HS transcripts and I submitted them and that was the end of it.

Also, I was just talking to my GSI who was also a high school drop out, went to CC, Cal for ug and is obviously now a grad student.

Oh, I see, guys. I guess I was misinformed. :D

But as for the HS transcriptsā¦the UC Application didnāt ask for me to input HS grades, soā¦?

Well, I decided not to go to Berkeley. Iām going to Boston College. :)

^ my HS transcripts arenāt required either. I think it all depends on if you have AP coursework counting towards IGETC or something along those lines.

Hockeelover: there is a difference between being a HS drop out and trying to hack into the computer system.

anyway, iām surprised this thread is still going.

good luck to this karen girl. hopefully youve learned a valuable lesson. as for getting into a UC, most likely it isnāt going to happen take responsibilty for your actions and look elsewhere to go to for undergrad.

missyujin: congrats on boston college! thats so exciting!

sacooper4,
I understand the difference. I was correcting another posterās comment that UC require HS trascripts āto confirm high school graduation. MANY MANY MANY people are ineligible because they are unable to provide proof of high school graduation or equivalent. Itās all on statfinder , each year, there are thousands who are UC INELIGIBLEā

ooh okay thanks for clarifying

oh my gosh so do the UCs have a black list or not, people.

and can i apply to good privates if i do well at CC?

my HS transcript aināt says nuthing about my problems, so if theres no HS report for common app, then the school aint says nuthing to the colleges, right?

so, could i shoot for like northwestern or CMC or somethang?

thanks people

K.S.

90 posts and like nobody has realized its a ā ā ā ā ā yet. I mean I get that you all are Community College students but jeezā¦

lol karen, you wish you could get into CMC. itās almost as hard as Stanford transfer.

P.S.: Yes, I know sheās a ā ā ā ā ā , just thought Iād throw that out there ;)

This is a serious situation.

So what privates are good for transferinig in my situation? Or publics that are not the UCs?

Thanks for your help.

Karne

Yes, the UCās do have a blacklist. Thatās why you wonāt be eligble to apply there as soon as you put in your SN.

Any good privates you can try, USC but grey said you got blacklisted there too. Also mainly all private schools require HS transcript for verification that you graduated. So that would bring up a HS transcript notation that you cheated. Also the HS can say something if it hasnāt been too long and if what you did was an extremely big problem.

Plus on every single college application, they ask you if you have been in any sort of academic problems. This would lead you to put down that you cheated.

Northwestern is a not. When you do apply to all those schools, Iām sure youāll get the same results as the UCās becasue of you high school past. Like others have said 1 year is not that much for a change. You clearly have screwed yourself.

people-

i aint been officially blacklisted no where xcept the UCs.

please continue listing good privates.

K.S.

and are you sure i wont get accepted. what if i do very well at CC for one whole year?

You could always testify in a major criminal case and get into the witness protection program. They definitely wonāt tell the UCs about your new identity.

karenS. please stop saying āaintā.

whoever you are, ā ā ā ā ā or not, this sounds like youve been blacklistedā¦
āThis action precludes you from having a future with the University of Californiaā and others said something like āThis does not make you eligible for undergraduate admission to our UC, or any other UCā

either way people are just starting to repeat each other. call a UC admissions office and ask them yourself.

as for private schools go do your research. look at other threads iām sure people ask the same question about good private schools.

my last two cents. hopefully this thread dies soon.

scapooper - there are nne of the threads i can find that are about this subject at hand.

please, that is why i ask for assistance in selected some prestigious university to apply to and have a future.

AH. this thread is super annoying.

you are a liar; and coincidentally or maybe by influence; your sister is too.

you WILL NOT EVER be allowed into the UC system and iām POSITIVE your high school record will be asked by any other college you apply to and therefore they WILL see what you did so basically youāre screwed for getting admission into a prestigious college or any other college that looks at HS school stuff (so basically almost ALL of them prestigious or not!). it doesnāt matter how well you do in your CCC right now.

apply out of the country maybe okay?

you still havenāt even learned your lesson and hopefully one day you will learn to take responsibility and not to play it off like some minor action.
