Transfer Chance Me Please? Physics Major

I'm planning on transferring to A&M as a physics major but I've selected general studies as my second choice just in case I don't get in. I'm going to be transferring from Richland College in Dallas with a 4.0 GPA and 33 credit hours completed but I'm really worried about my essay not being that great. Does anybody know how easy it is to get into the College of Science? How much should I be worried about my essay with my GPA? My only EC's are two years of doing free physics tutoring at my old high school and participating in the Academic Decathlon my senior year. Can anybody help me out?

P.S. Do transfer students need to have their SAT scores sent to A&M?

I don’t think they look at SAT scores…they only look at are GPA and EC’s. As long as you have those specific courses completed in order to transfer, then you’re pretty much good to go.

With my EC’s and GPA, how good does my essay need to be? I’m not a great writer and I’m kind of nervous about writing the essay.

I may be mistaken, but with 33 hours they may still look at SAT/ACT scores.

With a 4.0 from an in-state CC, I think you’ll be fine. If you are nervous about your essay, have a parent or teacher proofread it. I’m sure you’ll be in, the College of Science isn’t a high-demand college… Good luck!
