Crossing my fingers for this week as well! We should probably try doing what the other transfer threads are doing and make a list of our usernames and majors at Barnard, followed by the decision whether pending, and later on accepted, waitlisted, and whatnot. Notice I deviated from mentioning non-acceptance lol. Although we are a small bunch, it would probably help keep updated and also eventually round everyone together for meet-ups in the city/groups on Facebook? :-)

@thewoman I’m not sure what I would do if I got in. I’m already hesitating between UCLA vs Berkeley so I have no idea of how Barnard would affect my decision. I would probably end up picking Barnard though, it seems like such a great opportunity and I’ve always wanted to live in NY. I’m in LA right now and I don’t really wanna go though. Oh well, we’ll see!

hey everyone, I have a question

I JUST realized (stupidly) that I did not send in my course catalog descriptions :(

is it too late to send it out? ugh… I feel terrible.

I doubt it’s too late…the course catalogue is more for an estimation of transfer credit than anything else

@rivkalib Hmm awesome! Would financial aid or any of those factors deter you at all? If not then maybe Barnard would be a good trip outside your comfort zone! Haha

@seriouslyd I agree with NerdyGirl, the course descriptions are for them to assess transfer creds. You should probably call tomorrow to find out if it’s alright to send it now and if they’d prefer it to be faxed or mailed

Thank you so much for your replies @NerdyGirl @thewoman :)

I just sent them an e-mail but in any case, I’m going to send them out as soon as possible. Thanks again for your replies!

CRAP. I thought we had to send course descriptions after we were admitted?!?

Yeahhh if you look at the list of required materials it’ll tell you there that they want course descriptions of all college classes you’ve taken… Just call them and see if you can fax or mail them asap! I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Aghh still no mail today… Getting sooo anxiousss :-(

me either! anyone hear back today?

Nada. I’m hoping no news is good news…

Hi all! I’m another Barnard hopeful for fall 2010. Crossing my fingers for a decision soon! Did anyone else besides me apply to Columbia as well?

Nothing I just want to know!

Last year (at least for regular decision) they mailed them priority which I’m pretty sure is supposed to take two days within the US, so some of you should start hearing tomorrow!

fingers crossed ladies! again i hope to see all of us at Barnard in September!

Hmm really though, tomorrow? Even if I live in the city? :-(

Still hoping we’ll all be together this September!!

Just found this thread, I’m happy to hear we find out soon! I’m actually more nervous now that I’m posting about it. I currently go to the Eugene Lang College, it’s part of the New School but a little too untraditional for me. I’m pretty sure Barnard is my first choice. Where else did everyone apply/what are everyone’s stats?

P.S. to thewoman, Don’t blame you for hating Parsons! Do you live in the dorms?

Hey everybody, thought I’d post. I go to Sarah Lawrence (as my name would suggest), which is a great school but just not right for me. I’m really hoping I get into Barnard as a transfer, and have been aching to get my decision letter in the mail.

It’s funny to be back on CC after a year of thinking I was done with college decisions forever. I forgot how obsessive some people can be about college. At least the people on this thread seem to be really pleasant.

this is off topic but who emailed there course descriptions? I’m giving them all the info I can from the syllabi but i’m worried the document will be too long. its already 20 pages and I haven’t done this semester yet.

How did you write your course descriptions?

Haha oh goodness. Also I don’t live in the dorms; I calculated living expenses and realized it would be even cheaper to get an apartment which is pretty ridiculous. I miss campus life.

1000Bpm! I actually copy-pasted everything into a Word document so I could format the entire thing to make it easy to read through. I have 68 credits (not including this year!) but managed to keep it less than 10 pages (hardcopy/printed) still in like 12- or 11-pt font. We have the same amount of pages, except I printed mine back to back and put it in an envelope that’s organized together with recommendations, transcripts, etc. All in one go. So that way it looks less overwhelming? Hmm. Call them though to find out what they’d prefer just to make sure!! :-)
