I am quite confused about some of the materials on Common App.
First, I’ll start with the College Report. I know that dean of academics or students needs to fill this out. However, I’ll be applying 10 schools and will I make them fill out 10 reports or just fill once and copy the rest? Also, is mailing only way to send this report to the schools?
Second, secondary school final report. What is the difference between official high school transcript and this report? All schools on my list never mentioned this document on their websites. That means I will just ignore this?
Third, midterm report. Do I need to send this report before the deadlines? Because some of my midterms are after deadlines or are in the same week. Also, do my professor need to fill out 10 reports or just once? Lastly, how can I submit this report to colleges?
I have asked these questions to my colleges and still pending for a reply. Any advice or help will be appreciated.
College Report - Yes, this unfortunately means that you have to ask your college to fill out 10 reports. It’s important that the school mails it and not you. I had to give 10 reports and 10 pre-addressed envelopes to my school and they took care of the rest.
Final Report - I believe you can skip this.
Midterm - I believe you just submit it once you get to your midterms. I don’t think the deadline matters. Schools often submit decisions around May, which allows them a whole month to review your midterm grades.
@Vincent1997 thanks for the reply. One more question, can I submit a midterm report online or by mail?
@yankeebanger It seems that this is the only form that you can submit a copy of, instead of the original. I’d just send both to be honest. It seems that they want a hard copy, but in the interest of time its probably helpful to submit it electronically as well.
“Once you have gathered all required signatures, mail a copy of this form to each college to which you are applying. Be sure to retain the original copy for your records.”
@Vincent1997 hey, can I send college report or transcript before I submit my common app? Do you know anything about that?
@yankeebanger I did just that and never had any problems.
