Transfer Questions:

Hi All,

So I applied as a Freshman for the upcoming year and I really don’t feel like I’ll get in but we’ll see. Anyways, If I didn’t get in I was debating on either going to Sante Fe or St Pete College. SPC is about 20 minutes from me and I would have a scholarship that pays for 60 credits so I would have my AA for free basically. I also already have 36 credits from the school due to dual enrollment. I wanted to know if I stayed at SPC would I have the same chance or not due to most of UF’s transfers coming from Sante Fe. I would be applying for Poli Sci as my major. Also, does anyone know If I was accepted as a transfer if you can double minor once accepted?

Sorry for so many questions!

Your chances should be the same at St. Pete as Sante Fe. Sante Fe has several unique programs that help students transfer to UF, but they are not “required”. As long as you met the programs requirements and have a competitive GPA, your chances should be good.

I believe once you are admitted, you can select any minor, based on the standard restrictions in place for your major and college.

Personally I am at SF right now and looking to transfer for the Spring 2020 term and will be graduating Fall 2019. I love it here. I joined the honors program which allows me to take honors classes and be put with people who are just as dedicated. If you’re more comfortable at SPC I would stay there since it is free and you can stay at home without having to pay for an apartment which would save a lot!
