Transfer Should I be worried

I applied to transfer to James Madison for Spring 2010 in early september and still have not heard back yet.

I will have 46 credits by the end of this semester

27 were at a cc with a 4.0 gpa

and 19 will be from u of m dearborn
6 of them with a 3.7 one A one B+...

Every credit should be transferable and most go towards my gen ed requirements and to my hopeful major at James Madison of International Relations...

I wasn't too concerned at first as I have an ok application, with good ec's in high school and a decent essay. but since I applied a little late and they are waiting until the last minute to respond it is making me a little nervous. Especially since transfer admission is a little tougher and JM tends to not have much space...

Should I be worried?

The turnaround for a transfer app is about 8 weeks. You should be in, call and ask what the hold up is.

Yeah So I actually ended up getting the letter today and I was rejected… I don’t really see how that is possible…

You got rejected with a 4.0 and a 3.7?? I’m so sorry :(. Try again after next semester? I really can’t believe you didn’t get in with that gpa.

Yeah that is definitely surprising. My friend got in as a transfer into James madison with the same number of credits and the same GPA…I’d perhaps contact them? Maybe part of your application wasn’t received…you say that you applied a little late, does this mean that you applied past the deadline or perhaps they received part of the application past the deadline? That seems to be the most likely reason for your rejection, because from stats alone that is a near-guaranteed acceptance.
