Transfer Student - Need help!

<p>Currently I'm a freshman at the University Of Michigan-Dearborn and I just finished my second semester with 25 credits. My first semester I did alright and finished with a 3.36 and 9 credits, I then applied to Michigan State University (where i've always wanted to go but got rejected my senior year of high school) for the fall of 2012.</p>

<p>I finally heard back from MSU admissions and have to send in my second semester transcripts because I needed to finish some of their required classes. The main problem is I didn't do to well in my second semester finishing with a 2.75 (Had 2 jobs working 50 hours a week along with 5 extremely challenging classes which was a stupid decision on my part) and I am about to send my transcripts to MSU.</p>

<p>My question is should I scrap this years application and spend another year at UM-Dearborn to work my GPA back up to above a 3.0 and then apply for fall 2013? Or maybe I should spend one semester at UM-Dearborn and go the route of pushing my application for MSU to Spring 2013?</p>

<p>I'm just really confused, please help!</p>

<p>I am not sure you gain anything by scrapping your application. They can either say yes or no. If yes, problem solved. If no, then work on your GPA and apply again. They won’t hold that against you. It will show that you are serious. You can also explain to them what you explained to us - work load, etc. Maybe that will make a difference. Communicate everything you can. Don’t rely on forms to communicate for you if there is a way to communicate directly.</p>
