Transfer student paranoid about igetc

Hello, I just got accepted and now I’m paranoid whether I completed all the igetc requirements or not. Does Berkeley usually send you an email if you don’t qualify or is that something I’m going to have to double check myself?

You need to get it certified by the CCC. L&S requires full IGETC if you chose that path. You should talk to an advisor.

I’m applying into the college of chemistry, not L&S. Which is the college of letters and sciences right? Would that affect anything?

Edit: This is what berekely website says for college of chemistry, not really sure what anything below the first sentence signifies. Would appreciate any input on this.

Completion of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) is not required. However, when completed by the end of the spring term before transferring to UC Berkeley, IGETC is accepted in satisfaction of the English Reading and Composition Requirement. However, IGETC does not satisfy the entire breadth requirement.

Ok you don’t need it. However if you’re only missing one course you could take in summer and get signed off so you will not need any GE at Cal. You need permission to take a course in summer. (They will say okay.)

On the other hand, you might have all the GE you need for chem already. You need to bring this matter up with your UC advisor. It will not affect your admission. But you’ll know which path has the least amount of courses remaining.
