@muchConflicted I can’t really help it, I’m in love with San Francisco. I’ve been dying to get away from home. Weirdly this is one of the cheaper schools I considered (University of Washington is $60 a year for out of state students) I also like the small class sizes. And not to be super snooty or anything but cost was never a huge issue for me anyway.
@muchConflicted I also toured UCD while in California and I absolutely hated it. The weather was scorching and terrible. The campus was so big and it felt easy to get lost in. The whole college was in the middle of nowhere.
@tommygrangel If you’re looking for internships and connections I think USF is definitely the place. I went to one of their admitted student receptions and they said they try to get every student 3 internships before they graduate & the school has a lot of really good connections & they said USF students have a huge advantage bc the school is like 10/15 minutes from downtown & usually students from Berkeley or Stanford can regularly commute that far for internships.
@Ammbym
Exactly, I’m not trying to get friends or mess around with girls in college, im going to college for my future and I’m not going to school to save money. I guess I’ll wait for Berkeley but I’ll probably end up in USFCA
@Seabreeze843 I’m on the east as well so I’m not sure (New York) did you check your email? The website still isn’t updated for me. I guess they just send emails
@CollegeGirlyyy I did. Still nothing :((
How long does it take to get your financial aid offer after you are admitted? I got my acceptance letter over a week ago but I still haven’t heard anything about my financial aid.
@kittykattt I believe they have to mail you your package before April 20th because they want your deposit by end of April
I still haven’t gotten anything… Wonder if I’ve been rejected
My son still hasn’t heard back either. But hopefully that isn’t a bad sign.
Hey,
I just turned in my final transcript today. I am applying for data science. Any idea when I should expect a decision?
They did tell me late April when I emailed them and I have no reason to believe they’d give me false information.
I figure I’m a pretty good candidate, 4.0 with 56 completed credits, Phi Theta Kappa, club president, but I’m just paranoid.
@Nostalgia58 depends on a lot. Depends on how many people applied to your specific program, how good your stats are, etc. I’d say no less than three weeks.
My son was accepted on Friday! It was strange though he received the financial aid email and then the next day the actual acceptance came in the mail. He is really excited!
@Seabreeze843 Hey thanks!!! Did u hear anything back??
@tommygrangel Its all up in the air right now, I have family in SF so housing on campus is kinda conditional. TBH I am not sure I will be attending USF, it is super expensive even with financial aid + scholarships!
@Klow7 I did! I was accepted with a transfer scholarship for $13,000 a year (no financial aid tho, don’t really have any need)
Does anyone know what “STANDING-JR” means ? It shows up under notes for one of the requirement “Additional Information”.
@Seabreeze843 Did they ask high school transcript from you? Do they really need that from a transfer? Admission office never mentioned that to me but financial aid office did email me that?
@tommygrangel They didn’t (which is good, I had a 2.0 in hs). I didn’t apply for fin aid so I don’t know
@tommygrangel They asked me for mine too but it was only listed as a requirement for financial aid
@Seabreeze843 Congratulations!!!
