I’ve reluctantly put in a app to SFSU for this fall since I feel it’s time to move on after 5 years at the community college level. I’m planning on putting in an app in the fall to get into SLO if I end up hating San Francisco(which is likely a yes). Can this be done if I get a pretty good GPA around a 3.0 at SFSU if I’m looking to transfer from SF’s College of Business to SLO’s Orfalea?

I think it would be much easier to transfer to slo straight out of community college. I would just wait, get your gpa up, and reapply for another term.

I would, but I have too many units(nearly 100) stacked against me.

You can still get subject credit for courses, so they would still count when you transfer. I would look into seeing if you can squeeze more life out of cc courses in business or whatever you need.

Tried that with my counselor who assured me SFSU is just fine. She won't budge. I've completed all IGETC requirements and I'm taking any classes needed for major prep I can get into.

Another problem is that I have a pretty low GPA - I'm below a 3.0 now.

I would get the gpa up and look into other csu's, maybe you can get into summer term somewhere else.

I guess my dream of getting into Poly is dashed. Looks like I'll be stuck at mediocre SFSU then. :(

did you get rejected nthach? or just going on by what people have told you?

I applied to SLO 2 years ago and got rejected, and I was planning on putting in an app again in the fall when I'm at San Francisco. I missed the deadline in November, but I feel quite depressed when it comes to transferring since I have a sub-par GPA and too many units accumulated during 5 years at the junior college level.

I'd call CP and see if the units are going to be an issue. If not, I'd definitely still apply.
