Hey guys, I have considered transferring to Tulane. I go to LSU now, and I really dont like it. My GPA is terrible and I chose the wrong major. I like the small feel of Tulane better and its New Orleans. also, Im from Baton Rouge. I jut want a different college experience and make some friends. What is Tulane like? My GPA is below a 2.0 wthough. I struggled with depression my junior year. …

The fact that you are in the second semester of your 4th year now leads me to assume you are talking about being an undergraduate for one more year, at least. If it is only one more year, then I suggest staying put. It is too disruptive to move for that short a time. Just tough it out, as unsatisfying as that advice is, I know.
If you are looking at two more years then transferring makes a lot more sense. However, I suspect Tulane is out of reach for you with your record so far, no matter the reason. Not to mention expensive. You probably need to be looking at smaller branch campuses of the LSU system where there is still a reasonable number of people that live on campus, assuming such a thing exists. I am not familiar enough with the particulars of their various locations to know which ones are mostly commuter students and which have a decent on-campus presence, other than Baton Rouge.
You could also try some less selective privates in the area, since it sounds like you want to stay in Louisiana. In New Orleans there is Xavier, which is mostly African American but not exclusively (I have no idea what race you are, of course) and is actually a pretty good school, and Loyola which is right next to Tulane but still might be out of your reach with a 2.0. But again, if you have 2 years left and could make a case that you could do far better in a small college environment, Loyola might listen. I just don’t think Tulane would be persuadable. Finally, as far as ones I can quickly suggest, there is Centenary College in Shreveport. Not Southern Louisiana, but still Louisiana.
Best of luck to you!
I would address the depression first, if that isn’t addressed no place you go will be better and your grades won’t improve.
Being below a 2.0 you should look into Delgado or BRCC. Find a major you like and put all your effort into bringing your grades up. If your grades don’t come up then having a diploma won’t get you a job in the field you chose anyway.
You may also want to look into the techincal colleges in the area as they offer a lot of degrees and are much smaller enrollments.
Thanks for the replies guys. I need to start talking to someone first. Also, is there an exchange program for Tulane as well, just for a semester. Tulane seems fun as well. You get to meet different people, sports, clubs, girls, and partying haha.
I am not familiar with such an exchange program.
If you are only interested in Tulane to get to New Orleans for the social/partying scene then maybe consider UNO?
