Transfer to UCLA fall 2013

There’s a point system that the evaluators use :p

@ Hazgirl: I am a Soc major and transferred to LA Fall 12 with a 3.67 GPA… I worked ~30 hours/week, no clubs/organizations while at CC (only HS), and must have had a strong essay lol

@citiz Excellent! We’re you in TAP too?

@ Hazgirl: nope! so i think you have a great shot! :)

@citiz thanks a lot! I just keep doubting myself… Is sociology extremely impacted at UCLA?

it’s impacted, but so far I’ve gotten into all the soc classes I’ve wanted (except 1)… it depends a lot on the registration time that you get which really determines if you can get into all the classes and discussion times you want… you are randomly assigned a time during a specific time block based on your class standing…it sucks though because I’ve had other junior Soc friends get to register for classes a whole day ahead of me…and some even after me…

Do have to have a 4.0 to get the regents scholar? Anyone knoe?

The UCLA website says that historically, all regents scholar had a 4.0 prior to enrollment at UCLA. The UC admissions website said that a 4.0 is required in all coursework. The thing that contradicts these statements is that people with less than a 4.0 received UCLA regent invitations. Best bet, call and ask?

@hoping yeah that’s true… One of my friends who was accepted to UCLA last year had a 3.8 GPA and he recieved the Regent’s Scholar as well.

I guess that means you don’t need a 4.0
