Hi all, nice to meet you guys. I actually am in need of a few advice for my potential transfer after the next Fall.

I am currently enrolled in a local community college, obtained more than 30 credit (36 at the time of my planned transfer) and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I took SAT I back in 2008 and got CR560, W640, M640. The problem is that I am kinda old (25 years old now. will that be a problem?). Yeah. I got a gap in my education. Worked for a few years and decided to come back to school as a full-time student. But I did terrible back in High School (barely graduated with a passable score).

I think I can ask for letter of recommendations from most of my college teachers, how many letters do you think are enough? There are two profs who I think know me the best and one who adequately knows me. All the other profs barely know me but I think they will write me one if I really insist. Should I just get 2 letters, 3 letters or get as many as I can? Also I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and they say they can write me a letter of rec as well, should I ask from them?

Would anybody please advise me about my chances to transfer to UT Austin or TAMU @ College Station? And what can I do to improve my chances? I am planning to transfer to the College of Liberal Arts. I am a new immigrant to this country (permanet resident now) who doesn't speak English as a native language (oh yeah, and I got 105 on TOEFL iBT which I think is sufficient for most schools) so I ain't very familiar with the criterion and procedures. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
