Transfer

So I want to transfer to Michigan next year. Right now I’m going to Case Western Reserve University in the fall. The thing is I went on UM’s webpage and saw this “Has earned sophomore or junior standing (preferably) with transferable credit earned at a community college or another two- or four-year college or university.”

When it says you earned a sophomore standing does that mean you passed Freshman year and are eligible to be a sophomore or does that mean I have to be a sophomore before I can apply? This is very confusing and scary.

Also I didn’t do amazing in High School. My GPA was about a 91. How much is my high school GPA considered in a transfer?

Also if any of you have any tips like average GPA and other things that would be very helpful!!!

It means you have to have enough credits to be in sophomore/junior standing.
The year you are in doesn’t necessarily equate to standing. Some people come with a lot of APs and are technically of sophomore standing their first year.

HS GPA is considered less the further away you are from HS.
