I'm a student within the Cuny CC system. I need to know what are my possiblity of transfering as a sophmore student. I will be attending QCC as a freshmen for the 2011 Fall semester. I'm really determine to give all what it takes to maintain a 3.5 GPA or more. I even have been preping my self for Calculus and Pre req science classes. I'm thinking of as well voulunteering at a local hospital this year. In addition to college I have heard the symester go by quick and learn at faster pace compare to High School.

I had gotten accepted to York College and attended the summer classes there as well. But I was not financially clear to register for classes and I wasn’t aware nor was I informed by the Financial Aid office or Admissions office that this was the problem. When I tried to register, they simply told me I was too late and had to go to a community college for a semester and I could transfer back or transfer anywhere else. My main goal was to transfer out of York in a year anyways to Queens College or City College. So now I’m going to QCC for a semester My friend who got accepted to John Jay had a similar problem and has to go to QCC as well. Now I was just wondering how many credits I need, or what gpa I have to maintain to get into CCNY or QC after a semester?

You have two option either transfer next semster or gain 24 or more credits to waive the high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores. In addition CUNY requires a minimum GPA of 2.5. Don’t believe it because CUNY systems are crowded by the cheap man Harvard tuition. There’s a lot of competition in CUNY, so have at least a 3.0 GPA. Finnally I don’t want stress that QCC grading curriculum is harsh due to the fact that an A = 96 or more.

P.S - “It happens.” Just apply yourself and think ahead of time.
