Along with a post on these forums,I have been hearing that transferring to stern is next to impossible.Am I out of luck if i wanna transfer to stern after a year of community college unless im in U.S.A's top ten.

No, not at all. Last year there were a decent number of students that transferred from CCs to Stern, though you need to have as close to a 4.0 as possible and take the prerequisite courses.

How did high school and SATs look? If they were good, you can apply after a year, but if they were anything such as: lower that 1100 on the SAT or equivalent on the ACT and 2.9 or below on your high school GPA and little extra curriculars, you MAY want to wait another year before transferring. However, if everything looks better than that and you have, as brand said, excellent grades, give it a shot! I too know of some people that have transferred from a CC.

Well im still a junior in high school and im looking at transferring from a CC just in case i don't get in as a freshman. My GPA is looking at around 3.8 right now and i have yet to take the standardized tests.

Like i said, its just in case I don't get in as freshman from the beginning because I know people whose test scores killed them even though they had 4.0+ GPA's, So im making it a reality that I might not get in first time and doing some planning.
