Transfering To UCI as CompSCI, IGETC Helpful?

Hey guys I understand that alot of the UC's IGETC isn't required and actually is advised to not be followed but my question is specifically for UCI and as compsci major, would it help my application look better if I had it completed? I messed up and currently am enrolled in 3 GE classes that would help me complete my IGETC but from what I read UC's dont like IGETC completion for science majors?

IGETC allows you have to have the options to be accepted to wide variety of UC’s/CSU’s. If you don’t finish it then the chances of being accepted to other UC’s/CSU’s becomes very limited.

Some divisions at some UCs and CSUs accept IGETC in substitution for their own breadth requirements. If the major you want is in a division that does not accept IGETC, then you still need to complete that division’s breadth requirements. It is likely that some of the courses you completed for IGETC may instead be applied to that division’s breadth requirements.

its not that the science majors don’t LIKE IGETC, its just usually not relevant. but honestly the more certs you have the more impressive you look. so i wouldn’t go out of my way to get IGETC but it would hurt. so when they say they don’t accept IGETC it doesn’t mean you are better off with out it, it just means it won’t fulfill their specific requirements
