I'm not yet in College but I really just want to get a plan laid out so I'd be pepared when the time comes for me to move.

Is it possible if your HS record was bad(not as good as the rest) and weak SATs? I know a good yr in college shows improvement but is it enough?

I want to apply to the School of Engineering.

Any tips or recommendations?
GPA needed? And That other stuff.

Are you in Maryland? If so, your best bet for a successful transfer to UMD is probably to complete an A.S. in engineering at one of the Maryland community colleges. This will give you more time to raise your GPA. You can find out more about Recommended Transfer Programs at: [ARTSYS Select ‘Transfer From’ & ‘Transfer To’ Institution](ARTSYS Select 'Transfer From' & 'Transfer To' Institution) Select the Maryland Community College that you would be transferring from and University of Maryland College Park to find which program you should complete at your community college.

happy pretty much covered it but aside from that:
make sure you keep your gpa as high as you can
get to know your profs well so that you can get good recs
get involved with ec’s, maybe research with an engineering prof (and use the same one for your rec)

No, I’m not in MD.
