Transferring after First Semester Medical Leave

Hello all. Here’s my situation: I’m a first-semester freshman at Syracuse University. Or, I was. I left at the end of September on psychiatric medical leave. In the time since, I’ve been thinking a lot about transferring to a smaller school (I don’t think I’ll ever be comfortable at a place like Syracuse given my condition). I know I’m up against hard deadlines but that’s alright. My question is, am I going to be able to transfer given that I have no college grades? I had good grades in high school with a 2370 SAT 3-part, but I’m not sure if that counts for anything anymore. Would I have to explain what happened? Do I stand a chance of admission at any decent schools without any college grades? I believe I’m still in good standing. I’m looking at TCNJ, and I’m in-state for that.

Any answers or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You need to contact TCNJ and the other places you are interested in, and ask what steps you need to follow. They wil let you know whether you are a transfer or a freshman applicant.
