Transferring from an OOS community college?

I’m a resident of NJ and a senior in HS right now. I am taking two dual enrollment courses and want to know if they will transfer to OSU, if not, I want to make sure the 2 I’m taking in the spring will…along with the 2 summer classes next summer, and next fall…

Basically, I want to attend OSU-Columbus and I want to try and get there in as little time as possible. I screwed up the first half of HS and I’m doing better.

Here is the thing, I shot them an email and quite frankly they aren’t helping me.

They keep telling me to use this website called u.select. It is not helping me out whatsoever because NEW JERSEY IS NOT ON THE LIST!!!

Is there any freakin’ way I can figure out if these CC courses will transfer over? In the email it almost sounded like:

Take 30+ credits at the CC, send us your app and we will decide what transfers.

MY HS GRADES ARE CRAP. This is precisely why I want to know beforehand.

Help please…=S

Also, OSU’s transfer rate is like 84% but I’m thinking that it’s easy for people IN STATE to get in. Right? Or am I wrong?

What’s your GPA and SAT/ACT scores?

HS GPA=2.0
HS SAT=1510/2400

CC GPA=4.0
Have not retaken the SAT since HS.

Bump bump bump

I think you’re going to have to have killer grades in CC to get in.
You may have to complete two years in CC as well. Your HS GPA is pretty low.

If you have over 30 Semester hours OSU won’t even ask for your high school transcripts or SAT scores. That’s your best bet. I imagine a 3.0 in CC (3.5 almost a guarantee) and you’ll be cheering on the Bucks live in the following Autumn.

^ Agreed. And I knew that already.

The thing of it is though, the only way (it seems) to fine out for sure if my CC credits transfer is to APPLY and send them my college transcript for evaluation.

Basically, it seems there is no way of knowing ahead of time which credits from my CC will transfer and which ones won’t =/

What about a 4.0. Would I be in with that GPA?

I would think so.

No there is no way. Math was the hardest for me to get credit for as I’m in the business program. I have an Associates of Arts degree, plus a few miscellaneous electives and I’m still not convinced I’ll be done in just two years. Hopefully I’ll only have to stay one more quarter and get OSU Football season tix again!
