Transferring from "UC to CSU" - Anybody?

Hello, I have decided to drop out of my current UC school: the reason being a multitude of things; I dislike my major/program, I have a personal matter that requires me to be close to home, and I am already in serious debt. I'd prefer to go to a CSU that is much closer to home, not to mention contains a program more to my liking.

I am only taking 3 classes at my current college and I had previously completed 60 semester units at CC.

Is there going to be a problem in transferring to a CSU for fall of 2011? I am currently working on my application and was wondering if it was going to be hard given that I am already at a UC.

A major problem you will face is that like the UCs, the CSUs are required to give the highest priority to transfers from CCCs and recently the CSUs have had to cut enrollment and therefore are having difficulty finding places in the CSU system for qualified transfer applicants from CCCs. The CSUs might also give some preference to transfer applicants from other CSUs. It probably will also depend on what CSU you want to go to. Some like Cal Poly SLO, SCULB and SDSU are considered impacted and may be reluctant to accept a transfer student who is already at a four year college.

Regression, dawg, regression. :</p>

Anybody? I’m having somewhat of a same problem. I just want to drop out of school and I am still not sure if I want to go back to this one, but a college nearby.

Well the thing is that I have just transferred from CCC (GPA:4.0), and I am only taken 3 quarter unit classes at my current UC. I figure if only one quarter of attendance at a UC school reads on my transcript, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, right?

Also, how does one “drop-out”? Do you have to fill an application/sign papers?

the UC system considers it that way, yes, I dunno about the CSU system. I think 20-ish units from a 4 year institution would be acceptable if it was the other way.

This way, I have no idae :(
