Transferring to uiuc

I got deferred then denied last year i had a 3.8 GPA in high school and am finished with a 2.6 in my first semester of college at Iowa.
what do I need to transfer? or should i be good for acceptance?

I have to tell you I really think a 2.6 isn’t going to impress UIUC much. I doubt that would be competitive for admission.

I understand a 2.6 wasn’t impressive but im not transferring this spring i wanna transfer next fall when i will be a sophomore. and I read on an article that admission is 2.5 from college for general admission? would they only take my 1st semester grades from college or my 2nd semester also since im transferring in the fall?

It depends on when you fill out the application. If you do it now, then your transcript can’t include your Spring grades, however, since you have less than 30 credits, you would be evaluated as a High School student instead of a pure transfer. In addition, they will probably want to see your Spring grades before making a decision. It might be better to transfer after your second year if you are able to improve your GPA.

I dont want to transfer after my second year i wanna be a sophmore fall 2014 if that makes you understand that?

Oh, I understood all right. I was just suggesting that you might need a bit more time to raise your GPA to the level required for transfer admission. It is certainly not guaranteed with your current number. Anyway, best of luck.

xramancs would you say I have a decent chance?

@ccstudentIL: It would be better if you asked your question in a new thread. Anyway, your high school grades won’t matter if you have 60 credits or more. From what you say, you have a strong GPA and you are a good bet to be admitted. However my opinion, is just that, an opinion.
