Transferring to USC after freshman year at a UC school?

I'm planning on enrolling in one of the UC schools I was admitted to: probably UCSD. BUT am planning on applying to USC as a transfer student within the first couple of months.

Anyways, I know that if you have less than 30 transferrable credits, USC looks mainly at your high school record and test scores. As of today, I have 5 credits, and possibly 10 by the end of the summer (before I even matriculate into UCSD).

In this case, I will probably have less than 30 transferrable credits at the time of application, but will have enough by the end of my freshman year.

Should I retake my ACT/SATs? How important are they in the process? My ACT was a 29, and my SAT IIs were 750/640.. GPA is/was a 3.6 UW

Can I use the same essay I submitted to them this past year? (Revised of course) Or should I rewrite it as a whole? I feel stupid posting this..

if they rejected you, what makes you think they'll accept you second time around, when they'll be basing their admissions on your high school record again, considering you wont have 30 units done?

Transfer stat requirments are not as high as they are for incoming freshmen
