Hi, I’m looking at transferring to UW-Madison next fall from Xavier University. I’m worried that most of my credits won’t transfer since it’s a private out-of-state school compared to Madison being a public university. I would need 24 transferable credits to be able to go there next fall, according to the website. I’ve tried looking at the transfer database to see if my classes will transfer but it’s only helpful if I go to another UW school. I’m also wondering what gpa UW-Madison is looking for in transfer students.
Your premise about private/public credits is invalid. Inquire at UW admissions for help in determining if credits would transfer. Try asking your own school. A 3.0 is the minimum for transfer but it could need to be higher.
