Hi. Does anybody know what the easiest way to complete the immunization requirement is? can it be done with a simple visit to the doc? The three options available seem kind of confusing and I need help with this as summer classes are approaching and I can’t sign up for the orientation without it. Thanks :)

Mm yeah I’d say going to the doc is a pretty easy way to go. I just went in and he checked and dated a couple of things, and then took it right over to campus and they confirmed it right then and there. Registered for classes that night!

if you have the original immunization records from when you initially got the vaccine, you can photocopy that and give it to their office, or fax it to them (206-221-6628)

for me personally, I don’t have the paperwork since i got the immunization so long ago, and i will try and fax them paperwork from my high school indicating what immunizations i’ve gotten (since I wouldn’t be able to attend high school without it in the first place)

If that doesn’t work then I will just get a blood test at UW, the actual shot is $35 and the blood test is $50, which is a small price to pay so i don’t have to track those documents down!

diniefofinie- your preferred classes may be filling up but there’s still a chance you can get into them, 2 out of the 3 classes I wanted were filled up, but I kept checking the site to wait until people started dropping out and I got into both of them! You just have to be persistent :)

International fall transfer student here - All I’ve ever had is this;
“A registration appointment has been assigned, and you are eligible to register on or after June 21, 2010. If you have questions about advising and orientation and/or registration, please contact the First Year Programs Office.”
I haven’t gotten any letters except the one which advises you to set up an uw account - does this mean I’m in?
Thanks guys! looking forward to seattle!

hey guys: have any of you received the acception letter from UW-Seattle?Although I applyed it on Feb.14, I think the result should come out. However, my status is still pending. I have no idea what do I have to do. Is there no chance for me to be accepted?

jimmy4ever - yeah, under the application status link (on the myUW frontpage), you click through and it brings you to a status page… It’s weird, do you have to be accepted to register for classes or do you just register anyway?

I apply for Fall 2010. My status remains “We have received…” on March 30th till now…
Hopefully the result could come out soon.
I heard that UW would accept from high GPA to low GPA such as 4.0, 3.9,3.8…Is that true? My friend got accepted last fall. She applied with a GPA 3.7 one day before the deadline and I remember she got accepted around June 9 last year…

I don’t think so. I have a 3.95 and I got accepted about 2 weeks after the first person on CC had her unofficial transcript change. I think they put aside applications that they aren’t sure they are going to accept. Then after they have accepted all the ‘for sures’ they go through the pile of maybes. That’s why people with low stats/ bad essays get accepted last.

zlm1g08 my status and many others are " we have received and…"
my status remained that for a long time and its already June
and im kinda worry when the decision will release

Ok I’m officially stressing. Up until this point I’ve been pretty sure I’m going to get in. I’ll have my AA when I transfer (which I earned in one year), have a pretty good GPA, and I’m transferring from an instate CC. So I feel like I’ve got a great chance. BUT–today I took my intro to logic final which was worth about 95% of my grade and I didn’t finish it! I’m sure I’ll get some partial credit but with how my prof grades that doesn’t mean much. So there’s a good chance that I just failed my class. I’ve never heard of UW revoking admissions to transfer students, but is it possible? I feel like it would be kind of cruel to do to someone who is already half way done with their degree. But you never know with UW.
Also, I’m taking one class this summer so I don’t have to send my final transcript in until late august/early september. So with that little time until fall quarter starts would they even have a chance to check out my final transcript? And if they did, would it be as big of a deal as a senior in high school coming down with senioritis and failing a class? (which is why they’ve revoked admissions before.)
Ahhh it would just suck so much if I went to a CC, working to end up at UW, getting accepted, and then getting admissions revoked and ending up at WSU where I could have been all along. Especially because I don’t want to be a cougar
PS–Sorry I posted a novel.

aylagator–I heard UW would take a look at instate CC transfers first. Are you a instate CC transfer?
staks–You can send email to a UW counselor to talk about your situation. If you do fail the class, i will suggest you to retake it in Summer.

Hi everyone,
Did everyone sent the winter quarter’s transcript to UW? I just realized that I forgot that although it was not a requirement as they said. Will it decease my chance to get acceptance? I am freaking nervous now T__T

I am an in state community college transfer student with an associates degree (which- along with my grades- gave me the highest priority for transferring).

Staks- don’t fret- one bad grade WILL NOT ruin you! Do well in all your other classes. I’m 99% sure failing one class will hurt your admission. That being said- please do talk to an admissions counselor. They have more answers than we do.

Dark- you do not need to send your winter grades in. If you felt you did exceptionally well than I would send them in to better your chances of being accepted. I decided against it because I didn’t feel my winter grades varied from my cumulative enough to make a difference. HOWEVER- if you are offered conditional enrollment (like I am) you must send in your official transcript before you transfer. In my case I need to finish Spanish this quarter in order for my admission to the UW to be valid.
