Trying to find a winter job...

(Not sure if this goes here, because the employment one seems to be more towards careers)

I am having the hardest time finding a job. I have applied to almost 30 places now, possibly more, for a job. Only a few have given me feedback; two said my break isn't long enough, and the rest never got back to me. All the others never contacted me back.

I am still applying, by checking craigslist everyday and applying to any of the jobs that I think I would be remotely qualified for.

I've applied at some big box stores, chain food establishments (Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts, etc.), hotels, dealerships for lot people, and local places.

Where are good places to look? I just need to have some income.

Thanks!

(My break is a total of 6 weeks long including this week, but I'll be gone for 6 days on vacation, which I know diminishes my chances of finding one.)

Check out supermarkets, they sometimes take seasonal work. Whole Foods is a pretty good place to work for, although you’ll probably be saying bye to a few of your nights and weekends.

I’d say retailers, if you can stand the work, need a lot of extra seasonal help around this time of year, with Christmas/New Year’s, and the ensuing post-holiday sales.

I am looking for a job too. This break is going to be wayyyy to long and I need to make cash…

Yeah, I’m starting to get discouraged lol. I feel like no one is interested in me, I’ve been at this for the past two months applying to places.

Thanks DCHurricane, I forgot to apply to the grocery stores. We don’t have Whole Foods here, but I just applied to Tops Supermarkets and even though its hard to get a job at Wegmans, I might just try… I just need money!
