Right now I go to Suffolk Community College. I am trying to get into SUNY New Paltz for Spring 2018.
My GPA right now is a 3.1. I know that the minimum GPA for transfer students is a 2.75, so I’m good in that regard. But i am very nervous about my SAT scores. My highest score as of right now is 1120 (using the new grading scale). I have to speak with my mother but I am going to try to take the next SAT in October and work hard to bring up my score. New Paltz does super-scoring, and my super-score would be 1580 (i’m not sure if i added my scored right with that though). I have not taken the ACT.
I have two letters of recommendation being sent out soon.
I have less than 45 credits, after this semester I will have a total of 38 credits. I will be going in with an undeclared major. I am aware that if I have less than 45 credits, my high school transcript and SAT scores are required. I need to call my high school for my transcript, but if i remember correctly, i had a 2.4 GPA. Unfortunately, I didn’t do great in high school due to being severely depressed in my first two years. My last two being consumed by AP art. I was foolish in high school and didnt realize the severity of my grades and I am fully regretting it right now.
Before anyone gets on my case about not trying hard enough, I’m already beating myself up about it. I’ve heard it all from my mom already and I’m determined to try even harder. College is going to become my life this semester. I did great last semester, better than I ever have in high school. I’m going to do even better this semester though.
As of right now, do you think I have a chance for getting in for Spring 2018? I’m really nervous, as I don’t think my current grades will be good enough. I am going to apply anyway though just in case, and I will most likely be taking another SAT (and studying hard in the small amount of time that I have).
