Tufts University Early Decision for Fall 2023 Admission

Tufts doesn’t defer that many from their ED rounds. We were applying last year ED and I had found a stat somewhere of it being around 8%.

Thanks for letting me know! Did your child end up going to Tufts and is he/she/they happy there?

Yes, he got in. Very similar stats to yours. We are from CT. He is very happy at Tufts. Within the first few weeks he found his tight group of friends and has established a nice balance between course work and fun. Professors are easy to talk to and accessible. Best of luck to you!

Hi all! Getting a little paranoid waiting for ED1 decision. Someone mentioned that the withdraw button will disappear once the admission decision is loaded in the system, unless the decision is deferral. True? Good luck to all of you waiting.

That’s a change from prior years, and a good one if that’s true. At DS’ school high school class of 2016), everyone who wasnt accepted ED was deferred. In the RD round, some of those kids were rejected, and some were WL. They all felt strung along although that is the norm for most schools. I appreciate the schools that cut kids free when they know they can’t offer them a place.

I was also wondering abt this… I heard this happened with transfer student applications but I’m not sure if it is also true with ED/RD portals. In any case, I think we are all getting a bit too paranoid rn. Good luck!!

The irony is we are paranoid for not having the opportunity to pay $80k out of pocket every year. Lol

i applied ed to tufts and in my portal it says all of my financial aid except for my fafsa has been submitted. i submitted fafsa over a month ago and have both called and emailed the financial aid office to fix this problem. does the fact that the financial office isn’t worrying/rushing to contact me mean that i didn’t get in? if my application had been reviewed and liked, would they begin to start my financial aid?? i’m the oldest in the family so none of us really have any experience with this financial aid stuff.

damn, we still got the withdraw button. Does it mean it’s a deferral? I’d prefer it is a straight yes or no.

From what I understand the theories with the withdraw button are mostly speculation, but the fact that the withdraw button is still there still makes me so nervous…

Withdrawal button still there for D. I recall that in past years, Tufts deferred only a small number of ED1 candidates (8-10% is familiar).

Self submit test scores and withdrawal button still there for my son.

So I don’t think it’s a luck all of us here is a deferral. That means decision not loaded yet. Good luck :+1:

Good luck, everyone. Freaking out but glad to at least know when we will get to know.

So if you applied to the engineering school, are early decisions released on a different day?
