@alexandra00 - Family alum/legacy is considered. Do your parents give generously? Are they actively involved in their local alumni/ae club?
@ahling she ultimately not decided to apply for TPM, since she most likely will not be attending Tulane. She knows one person who got an interview, but she hasn’t heard the outcome of that.
My guess would be that they are released at the ed of the day, but thats just a guess.
Chance me? I have had terrible luck thus far and was initially deferred at Tulane. I have since been waitlisted at all of my other top choices.

Demonstrated Interest: I thought my Why Tulane essay was strong, went to another school to hear a Tulane info session, have emailed my rep with a LOCI and a follow-up saying I will attend Tulane if accepted, also went to NOLA to tour and meet with my rep after I was deferred, had my AP GOV teacher send an additional letter of rec after I was deferred
I know these get annoying, but if anyone has insight to offer, it would be greatly appreciated!!
Did you send any additional information— any additional awards improved grades, any other things that strengthen your application?
@jym626 My letter of continued interest addressed some of this…I drew attention to my high grades in Gov, mentioned an award I received in a writing contest, and mentioned NHS (as I had not been officially inducted until after Nov. 15).
After being rejected from all schools in California, I wish Tulane will love me.
@BelJeanW omg literally same… i was deferred EA and emailed my AO twice with LOCIs at Tulane and he didn’t respond both times…I wish there was something I could do but I guess this is gonna be another rejection.
what time tulane come out
Last year they were released at around 4:30 EST
The decisions come out today, right?
Yes
I read there was some confusion about the release date-today or April 1 or anytime in between. Has Tulane made a statement? Thanks!
I email them last night and they replied: Thanks for reaching out! We will release the decisions today at 3:30 CST. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if there is anything else you need from us!
And yes, Tulane has made a statement. In the admission director’s most recent blog post, it says decisions will be released today. If you go back a page or two there is a link
@Clairenola Good luck to your daughter and yourself today. I would like to offer up an unsolicited opinion. Please dont second guess your strategy, it was a wise and good one, and gave your daughter the best chances at a great school that you felt was a reach. Both our daughters were accepted to Tulane but neither did ED because had they been accepted they wouldve had to have dealt with the cost regardless, and they knew that was something we couldnt handle. Neither had a set number 1, they both had a nice mix of schools at the top but couldnt decide on a number 1. IF and i am projecting here, but here is the real point, IF your daughter has those numbers and she is in the running for Tulane then likely the other schools she was accepted at are very fine indeed and she will do well.
In the end it could be much worse, neither of our daughters applied to my alma mater UCLA, and BOTH were accepted at my wifes NC State, but declined.
Something good will happen, you and your family got her this far you will get her the rest of the way. Let me know what happened.
Hey all, I started this thread WAY Back in Nov of Last year. And have kept up with everypost. For those of you accepted and attending, well done. For those of you not accepted, Im sure you have some VERY GOOD acceptances in hand to choose from. I would guess than the acceptances (amount of people left vs those that will get an ACCEPTANCE) wouldnt be any higher than 15% at the most. For those of you who that this is your first experience, check out the College Data Set for each school your kid wants to attend. From there you can cull lots of information on chances and what not… Also continue to use this forum (for whatever school your kids coming up will attend) you will be able to share lots of info with parents that have called or emailed. Good luck today.
i’m so nervous!! good luck everyone!
that’s 4:30 est right
5pm EST I think
