Tulane EA and ED Admission Decisions - Class of 2021

@allison1225 you can apply to both

@TulaneBarry @dolphnlvr6 @greeny8 Thanks all! I finished my DHS, since I only thought you could apply to one, but I will most definitely apply to both!

What is the non-superscored ACT? I don’t believe, unless things changed, they superscore the ACT.

@jym626 - Tulane does not superscore the ACT. They only superscore the SAT.

Thank you for confirming that. that is what I thought. So chalkboard, what is the non-superscored ACT?

I am actually now scared about getting into Tulane. I applied to Tulane as a safety school after given the email about the alternate application. My extracurriculars are really good and my test scores are 1570 SAT and 35 ACT. However, I chose not to answer the extracurcciuclar essay and just simply turned in a resume. While I did answer the Why Tulane question, I answered it in a honest manner and wrote about how I was initially unaware of what Tulane was and then did research and described every facet of Tulane that I liked. I hope that admission representatives do not defer my application due to a lack of interest in Tulane. Do you guys think this will happen?

@ChalkBoard congrats! what region are you in jw. I am trying to figure out the order in which they review the applications

@Harryp17, First of all, why would you waste energy being scared of a safety. Odds are you would never go there. Second, life lesson to be learned. Don’t take anything for granted, and arrogance rarely prevails. Having said that, if you are truly interested…send your admission rep an email and express your sincere interest in the school. If you are not sincere in that statement, don’t make it…Tulane has been known to not admit students who are well qualified who they think will never go. Based on your words, they may sense that…I am sure with the numbers you stated, good ec’s, and a proper effort, you will get into one of your choice schools…Now is the time of second guessing. It all works out the way it is supposed to…Enjoy your senior year…

You stats are certainly strong, but you are applying to many elite schools with very low admission rates. Tulane, with an admission rate between 28-31% in recent years, should not be considered a “safety” school.

My son got his acceptance envelope in the mail tonight! Portal does not show an update yet.

Received $25K per year scholarship; ACT 34; 87.3/100 gpa; private school doesn’t rank

@txmom90, Congrats to your son! When was his application complete, and was he EA or ED?

Congrats. What does that GPA equate to on a 4.0 scale.

I’m anxious. I thought people might get letters in the mail today but no one has posted so will wait to see if they will post any acceptances on the portal tonight. Good luck all.

@skeptile maybe the federal holiday is delaying letters for this week?

@DuelingGloves True but I thought if they put them in the mail Thursday some would arrive today. Again, I’m way too anxious for my S.

Accepted ED today! I don’t think I have ever been this excited in my life!
