Time for me to forget UT and move on. bye y’all.
They could very well extend the decision to mid March or even end of March
Students are applying to more colleges than ever before.
Honor programs should have waitlists.
Yes I feel like it may now be a waitlist for Turing
I believe any pending decisions for Turing could very well be the waitlist.
Have they done waitlists in the past?
I don’t know. It feels like this year is different. They normally admit close to 130, but seem to have admitted 100 so far. All indications are that they are trying to be more diverse (thankfully) and perhaps this is forcing some unusual yield management since it is uncharted territory for them. This is just my two cents based on what I’m hearing.
Don’t think they have formal waitlist but people have gotten in late in the past
guys i think they meant march 1 2023
My D got into Polymathic. She is super happy!
Curious what stereotype about Turing students you are talking about. Do you mind sharing here?
It seems they are trying to correct it this year, but direct from a family member that attended UT CS recently:
USACO > UIL in the eyes of the selection committee. Then they realize as an afterthought that they didn’t achieve gender balance or diversity and wonder why. Basically in the recent past you could find your USACO stars and they would all be accepted into Turing.
Just called school again , they said the results should be posted to my status yesterday they will check why it didn’t . So maybe a system issue but we will find out the decisions on portal today .
Is this for Turing?
Yes
oh that might be everyone gets bad news then
My son just got rejected
Same, my son got rejected too
Same here. Son just got rejected.
any acceptances or does it seem to be a full rejection wave?
