<p>Some perspective: Last year, UA had moved up by quite a lot of spots, so it really is no big deal if it falls one spot from last year. Clearly, the biggest hurdle for UA to jump to reach higher rankings is the peer evaluation score. Those of us who know what is happening at UA view it highly, but those who don’t, are still steeped in anti Southern stereotypes evoked by the word “Alabama.” Even though the mean test scores don’t have a huge direct impact on the rankings, I think the reputation of being very selective indirectly affects the peer institution ranking.</p>
