I’m planning to apply to a few of the UC schools, but I don’t have any art courses. My school doesn’t offer any, but I have a lot of music on my resume, including performance and theory; it’s my most prominent extracurricular. I probably should have taken the AP Music Theory exam, but I didn’t because I didn’t know about this requirement. Do I have a chance of getting in even without the art course?

It sure doesn’t look like it. I think the UCs try not to exercise too much judgment because admissions is so competitive.
nope … they won’t even read your essays. That said, at my son’t school. music classes meet the requirement.
