Since some people are posting their stats in here, here are my stats:
International, Chemical Engineering
SAT 1480/1600: Math 800, Verbal 680
SAT Math II and Chem: both 780
TOEFL: 116, full in every section except speaking which I scored 26/30 in
One great essay and three good ones
Very good ECs
Didn’t apply for FA as I have a scholarship from my home country and they’ll take care of all the finances.
I was asked to submit a letter of rec and I was waitlisted. I have a friend who was asked by UCLA to submit a supplemental application and she was waitlisted… she got into Berkeley though
Is EOP only for first generation, low income, or underrepresented. Anyone who didn’t apply for financial aid on the waitlist got the email? Also did everyone on the waitlist received an EOP email?
@sadd2000 yes, EOP is only for students who meet those criteria. I was waitlisted and I got the email, but Im pretty sure it was an error because I read somewhere that some rejected students got the email too.
I know the 2 or 4 addresses was a hot topic before decisions came out. My sons portal has 4 addresses again now when it had 2…any other waitlisted with this same thing?
Anyone know what they’re writing about in their essay?
I know someone who got off the waitlist last year that reported Cs on their most recent grades. I also know people with lower grades than myself who got in this year, pretty sure most of us have similar grades anyway, just show you’re unique in your essay. I hope they accept over 50% of us this year, good luck to everyone!
Stats - 4.4 waited gpa, 3.76 unweighted, 4.2 UC gpa, 1280 SAT, 23 ACT (I fell asleep dont judge), strong extra-curriculars, received LOR requests, I also received the misleading EOP email .-.
Has anyone been in this situation? My kid is admitted, but his best friend, the person he would want to room with, is on waitlist. My kid has to turn in his housing request by May 1, before the waitlists clears come out. Any recommendations on how to approach this situation?
Anyone knows about chances of acceptance off the waitlist for Chemical Engineering or anything related to College of Engineering or College of Chemistry from the last years?
Did most people here get a LOR request? I feel its kinda weird that I didnt get requested. If I was borderline between being admitted or wailisted (maybe it was between rejection and waitlist who knows lol), I would assume that they would have asked for those LORs to break the tie
@Jagomezpr I didn’t get asked for a LOR. I feel it’s weird too cause it would make sense for them to have asked for LORs to decide if I’d be admitted or not
@babuboy123 it went back to 2 the next morning 8-} @Jagomezpr@32riversk …my S got LOR also but that is an interesting point you’ve brought up :-? Not sure if makes sense but I think each application had 2 readers. Maybe LOR people were a maybe first, then yes to move to waitlist. But maybe you were a yes first and maybe second? I wonder how many were waitlisted this year…do you feel less posting about it compared to last year?
Hello, my s is a waitlisted incoming freshman and I’ve seen multiple posters state that it’s more likely to be accepted into L&S than EECS. Does anyone know which department nuclear engineering falls under? It wasn’t clear on the application.
BTW, his stats are…in state, 4.0 uw, 4.27 uc, 1420 sat
Nuclear engineering is definitely in the College of Engineering as the name suggests, but I’ve heard the exact opposite from a current UCB student that it’s easier to get accepted into the CoE. There really isn’t a definitive answer.
For the waitlist you can select whether you are interested in Global Edge or FPF, however this information will not lock you into either pathway. So, if you are admitted off the waitlist you will be able to select from the pathways that are still available. Also, indicating your interest in any of the pathways will not negatively affect your chances of being admitted off of the waitlist. Hope this helps!
The FPF program is only offered to students in the College of L&S, so if you’re applying to the College of Engineering, unfortunately FPF won’t be listed as an option. Best of luck!
