CONGRATS MY DUDES!!!
@goldenhobbes I’m waiting on Wellesley, too! Are you a Davis Scholar?
@jordanh16 I have no idea, I love both schools! I attended transfer weekends at both, so I’ve visited the each campus and learned a lot about them. I don’t think I can go wrong either way.
Do waitlisted applicants stand a chance?? I’ve been on the previous year forums and apparently everyone on the forum that was waitlisted didn’t receive admission eventually… if anyone knows anything regarding the waitlist please kindly let me know… I’m waitlisted for L&S media studies…
@ProfessorPlum168 thanks so much! I appreciate all your help along with @Ohm888 !!! Also do you know how to get the @berkeley.edu email?
Your mom IS proud of all of you! My dad passed away almost 15 years ago; he would be so proud of his grandson. I know he and your mom are looking down and are proud of you young folks.
Accepted
CCC Transfer - Santa Rosa Junior College
Major: Social Welfare
GPA: 3.4
IGETC: completed
Prerequisites: done except I dropped a “recommended” course (econ 2). I became the president of a club on campus this semester in place of taking this course. Could potentially hurt me now but I don’t know ??♀️
Applied: UCB, Cal Poly Pomona, Fresno State, Humboldt State, Sacramento State, San Francisco State, San Diego State
Accepted: all but San Diego
ECs: I work at Costco, PTK, Student Advocates Club (president), I intern at a nonprofit doing case management with homeless folks suffering from aids/HIV. I also work the needle exchange/outreach.
Edit* this isn’t really extra curricular but I also will graduate with a degree in Spanish and a certificate for Human Services, besides the degree I am transferring with.
Essays: probably killed it tbh. I’ve been through a lot in my life. I wrote about my experience with addiction and how I became sober.
Anyone know what the UC Berkeley transfer scholarship is? and what it is based on?
My teen got it for $10,000 in addition to a Cal Grant for $12,500 and so surprised that they got more money from UCB than UC Santa Cruz.
I have been lurking around this thread these past two days, trying to stay calm before decisons were released. Thank you to everyone for sharing their advice and accomplishments. To those that were admitted, CONGRATS! This truly is an amazing accomplishment. And to those who weren’t I understand what you’re going through. I was rejected as a freshman applicant, it really can be a heartbreaking experience but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. No matter what school you decide to attend, you forge your own path and make the most of your resources.
Now since everyone is sharing their own admissions decisions I thought I would add my own to the mix:
ACCEPTED (and still questioning if its a mistake ?)
Major: Chemistry
GPA: 3.85
CCC Transfer- Bakersfield College
IGETC- Complete
Prerequisites- Complete by Spring 2019
EC: MESA Program, PTK, Chem Club, research experience, some volunteering. Worked as an SI leader for a year and a math/chem tutor for another year. This was the weakest part of my application. I was worried this would end up in a definite rejection.
I was involved more in high school. Played tennis for 3 years, officer in honor societies, volunteered, participated in research at the local university.
Essays: I thought they were okay, not my strongest
Applied: UCI(TAG), UCB, CSUB, UCLA, Stanford
Accepted: UCI, UCB, CSUB
Waiting: UCLA, Stanford
I’m currently leaning towards UCB or UCI. I’m excited to see what the future holds!
Accepted!
Hi! I’ve been lurking for a while now, especially over the last few days.
For anyone who might find this useful in the future:
Major: Economics
GPA: 3.87
Prerequisites: Completed or in progress (Calc II in progress)
IGETC: Completed
ECs: Spanish Tutor, Volunteer for tax preparation for low income communites, regular volunteer for an organization that assists primarily the Latinx community in my county, owner and manager of a small business alongside my mom (it’s a dry cleaning shop I do bookkeeping, payroll, customer service, etc.)
Essays: they talked about balancing work with family and school. One of the responses was about catching up with math and how I barely scraped by in HS with a 2.7 GPA.
For anyone who can join, I highly recommend Experience Berkeley Transfer Program and Starting Point Mentorship. EBT helped me so much with the application, at one point we got to have admissions readers give us one-on-one feedback on our essays. I believe that without the guidance and resources from these programs, I may have not gotten in.
Congratulations to everyone that got in!!
Is anyone getting the “you are not allowed to view this page” message when trying to set up Calnet account?
i was admitted but im honestly so nervous about this school. ive been watching videos on youtube from UCB kids and they all make berkeley seem like an absolute nightmare. i already feel imposter syndrome and i havent even sir’d lmfaooo

do we get a physical letter in the mail?
anyway to be switched to spring transfer?
For future applicants patrolling the forums (cause I know I scoured the 2018 thread): I didn’t get any previous emails or invites prior to getting accepted, and I did not have four addresses on my portal at any point. Just thought I would help clear up the conspiracies haha
@slimreaper Yeah, I spent all of last summer (after submitting my SIR) watching those videos and freaking out about making the wrong choice. UC Berkeley is known as more of a school that people go to just to get through it and say that they graduated from UC Berkeley rather than a school where people enjoy their time there.
All that said, I do hope that some of you visit the school, decide it’s a good fit for you, and make positive YouTube videos about it. Future students will be grateful.
Yesss, ChemE major
OUT OF STATE and AMITTED.
I am from UGA and I really thought that I wouldn’t get in, not even UCSB because I know the transfer admission rate for out of state students is super low. But for now, I’ve got into UCB UCSB UCD, and still waiting for UCLA and UCSD
