@Ohm888 Thanks for the info! I’ll keep trying.
@90smix @Asifion thanks for the clarification. I checked assist and the prerequisites for math and applied math are the same. I finished all the prereqs except one which they note is good to have but it is not required for admission. I’ll have to take that in my first semester and then I can declare next semester?
Hi does anyone transfer from another UC? I got a question about UC Reciprocity. Since the grade for spring 2019 will not be finalized until June 20, I will not be able to get UC Reciprocity before then. I’m just worried that it cannot arrive on time. Will my offer be canceled?
@kp2200 could you tell me which course that is? it may be recommended but not required to declare your major. Also you can submit the forms required to declare your major anytime during the last semester of completing your major’s prerequisites, as long as it’s before the end of the term.
@Asifion it’s discrete mathematics. Anyways, thanks a lot you have been very helpful.
Did any of the transfer applicants from Fall 2019 receive any updates on Regents Scholarship?
@eqqqa1 I asked two different people about it on Transfer Day. One was a student who works in the financial aid office and the other was a financial aid advisor. Both basically said that those who got it were already notified. Now, I was really confused by this since everyone on this thread seems to agree that the notification for it hasn’t gone out yet, but they said that about 1.5% get Regents, and from what I can remember, they said that the invitations for interviews went out at the time of admission. Of course, they could have been getting mixed up with the freshman applicants, but considering that the event was literally for admitted transfer applicants I would assume the latter was who they were referring too. So if in the past the notification went out two weeks after admission, perhaps they changed the procedures for this year. It’s possible that no one on this thread got it just because such a small number actually receive it, and that’s why no one’s heard anything.
how do you sign up for classes? i feel like the calcentral is super confusing and really buggy
Does anyone know if your SIR date has any impact on priority for signing up for classes? I haven’t committed yet but I’m leaning towards Cal.
@slimreaper CalCentral can be pretty confusing when it comes to registering. The first thing you must do is make sure you’re in the right tab (Summer 2019 or Fall 2019). If you’re registering for Fall you can use the Class Planner to help map out your schedule but honestly speaking you’re probably better off doing the mapping yourself using Excel. The Fall 2019 class schedule can be found at classes.berkeley.edu. Transfers register second week of July for the Fall if I am not mistaken. You not only have to register for classes (lectures) but also fit in discussion sections which are always at a different time and place. And for some classes for science majors, labs as well. In essence you have to potentially register for not just 4 classes but 4 classes 4 lectures and sometimes labs. The discussion sections can really trip you up because if you wanted to switch just a discussion with another discussion section - can’t do it. Need to drop the whole course and readd, which means you lose your place in line also. Way more complex than registering in CCC.
You can queue up your classes in advance though so that when it comes time for registration, theoretically you press one button and hopefully things go thru.
Priority for class registration is based primarily on two categories - those with privileges to register early such as Regents folks, and then your registration date is dependent on your class (freshman, sophomore, junior or senior).
People are allowed to register before SIR deadline?
@RLSSME hey, I paid the SIR fee last night and still am denied access. I’m worried cuz my CalNet ID is apparently due by today!!! Do you have a due date on yours?
@ajbpotu When I paid the SIR it had the due date for making my CalNetID the next day, its typical. Also, it should say somewhere that it might take 24 hours for you to be able to create a CalNetID. Don’t even worry about it.
It’s fine if we don’t make the calnet after paying right? I had submitted my deposit to Berkeley and then found out a day later that I was admitted to CMU. I haven’t made a decision yet!
Congrats everyone!
@FlashyT im in the same boat, i feel like there arent that many resources for us lol. our major is really impacted, have you picked a back up major yet?
Hey everyone,
I’ve finally make an account lol, I’ve been lurking on here since pre-application time.
I’ve been trying to figure out my educational plan, but its a-lot of info. Do you guys know anything about the American cultures requirement, is it a course requirement most transfer students have take once they get to Berkeley?
Yes the AC req. is not required to transfer.
