I have that as well and based on the UCB FA/Scholarship site, it’ll populate with the actual names of the scholarships at the end of summer. They are need/merit based, so I think the availability of them will be based on each years FAFSA.
I have a bunch of kids as well, so congrats on getting in! No easy feat for parents!
I submitted an update form for two classes I dropped due to space and noticed my conditions of admissions changed but I haven’t actually received an update?
Accepted to L&S for computer science! 3.85 GPA from T30 private university. International and out of state, kind of shocked. Anyone have the groupme link? I dug one out a few pages back but the link doesn’t seem to work.
Nope - Haas only takes Juniors as incomings & you’ll already be a Junior. Since Haas’ application process is closed, you’ll have to wait until next year. You’ll be a Senior by then.
Also, Berkeley’s Econ only requires a small amount of prerequisites - 4 of them; Macro, Micro, & Calc 1 & 2. Haas requires those & a lot more prerequisites that you most likely have not done & Haas is very strict that 100% of prerequisites must be completed before entering Haas.
Then there’s the essays - Haas essays have to be written very differently from Berkeley’s essays since Haas requires you to address the Haas 4 Principles into your PIQs.
Haas has 3 Rounds in their application process & you cannot advance to the next round without being approved.
Round #2 - Only Haas - but not the rest of UC Berkeley - has a Supplemental Application that includes a detailed resume, another 500-word essay & the essay prompt changes each year so nobody knows what it’ll be & numerous 250-word essays about your extracurricular duties. That was due January 31st.
Round #3 - If you make it this far in the application process, you have to give a video interview on Skype to Haas. The Haas interviews are by invitation only since not everyone makes it to Round #3.
Since you didn’t do any of these Haas requirements & missed all of these deadlines, there’s no way Haas will take you.
Interview does not equal higher consideration, all that it means is that Haas would like to know more about you than they could determine from your essays alone.
@shredder47 From what I gather, You can go for your Econ degree now and only graduate with an Econ degree, or apply for Haas next year and turn down your Econ acceptance for this fall. Maybe you can defer for a year but I’m not sure how that process would work if you applied to the same campus where you have a filed deferral.
I’d email admissions for more clarity on that last option.
@Hip2DaGame I believe if he decides to attend he cannot get into Haas ever for undergrad however if he doesn’t attend he can reapply to Haas next cycle. He cant defer because once your accepted into L&S as a junior you cannot apply to Haas.
Hi I read all of these threads for about a year but never made an account until now, I just want to list my Stats and ECs for future prospective students who might have similar stats to mine and want to see what their chances might be.

for anyone who changed their housing plan from on campus to off campus, how much of a difference does it give you based on financial aid? I currently have mine applied to on campus housing, and have to pay 9k out pocket fees, but theyve given me 4k workstudy and 5k loan which im fine with. If i were to change it to off campus housing, would it make it to where i wouldnt have any out of pocket fees to pay?
does anyone know when regents notifications come out? also what is the process for that? are selected applicants notified and then asked to apply or is there no extra application process?
Everyone who applied is automatically considered for Regents if they are eligible; there is not an extra application process for transfer students like at Davis and UCLA. The regents notifications should come out around mid to late May.
Don’t ask your own admissions counselor. Ask a Haas admissions counselor since they will know their own policy. You can find their emails on the Haas website.
